I bought this model partly for the convection-oven feature, and that has been a major disappointment. Recipes that work normally in a conventional oven take much longer in this unit, so I finally checked the temperature with a separate oven thermometer. Set to 350°F, it took about 10 minutes to reach 300°F, then another 10 minutes to creep up to about 340°F, where it stopped. Set to 400°F, it similarly leveled off around 390°F. I recently purchased a motorhome with the LG MHEC1737F installed in it. I have used it numerous times to microwave cook and to reheat items, with outstanding results. However, I have used the air fry function three times, all with terrible results. Once you hit the air fry button you must refer to the menu code from the air fry menu. i,e,; chicken nuggets, #2, 2 servings, cook for 15mins - no way near done, just defrosted. This is a beautiful OTC Convection Microwave/Hood. The controls, once you learn them, are intuitive and easy to use. I love all the features. The microwave works great. I have also used it to soften butter that I have forgotten to set out. I have baked frozen pizzas and lasagna. They turned out great. I am wanting to roast a whole chicken.
