Compressor and Condenser will go out within 3 year

Avoid at all costs, Please do not buy an LG product.

We had the compressor replaced in the freezer. I believe the freezer should be colder. The ice cubes should be solid like a rock. The ice cream is like soft serve.

Died as soon as the warranty was up

Okay while it lasted. The freezer stopped working less than six years after we bought it, but just over five years so that the warranty nor the extended warranty covered the problem. Love the viewing window, but it only holds a small amount of ice. The inner part of the viewing door was staring to come apart as well. Will not be buying another LG appliance.

Life is good for LG

BUY THIS ONE-BEST REFRIGERATOR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely LOVE this refrigerator!! So much space, keeps things cold, and our favorite part… the door and being able to knock and look before opening its little door. 10/10 would buy again!

Ice Maker Subpar at best

Icemaker distributes unevenly creating a roadblock to filling the ice compartment. This issue creates little to no ice in the compartment at any given time. The fix is a manual fix where the owner must open ice maker door bang the roadblock if ice down into the ice compartment holder and hit the on and off button so the freezer understands it’s time to make ice again now the the roadblock has been distributed correctly.

Great Refrigerator

Love it.... awesome purchase. Waited forever to purchase a new fridge and this was well worth the wait

Display doesn't show when something's wrong

Lots of nice features. Unfortunately, some basic ones are missing, like an alarm and/or an error code when the unit fails. The display shows only the temperature setpoints for the freezer and fridge compartments, not the actual temperatures (like every other thermostat in the world). The linear compressor is normally very quite, which is great, unless you fail to realize when it has stopped running. Not good brand

Not worth the money Bought this fridge 4 years ago, ice machine no longer works, I have to get the ice manual / push the inside bottom and seal broke too. Called Lg, of course out of warranty Never buy this brand again or recommend it

Poor Reliability

Purchased the LMXS28596S /01 in May of 2021, it stopped working in May of 2025. Very disappointed in the LG appliance product line. According to the repair company, the compressor needs to be replaced. Parts are on order from LG. Going into my third week without a refrigerator… SMH!

Small freezer sections - LG model LXMS28596S/06

Overall, a fairly good fridge. Nice features such as bypass door. However the two freezer sections are quite small and have limited capacity. If we were to buy another fridge, we would probably purchase a three door instead of a four-door fridge. Display temperature does not match temperature of fridge or freezer measured with thermometer.

Door not sealing

Having issues with right side door not sealing. Replaced gasket with factory gasket and didn’t help.

Wow dual freezer drawers.

Love the dual freezer drawers. Very convient, allows easier access to items, longterm bottom drawer. Short term, top drawer.

A big size for a big family
