We purchased all LG kitchen items almost 5 years ago. I have not been happy with any of them. The stove knobs are on the front and get turned on when we lean in to turn on or place items in the microwave. The microwave numbers and cooking time does not have complete numbers. The refrigerator double doors are a pain, you have to open both doors to get anything in or out. The dishwasher doesn't always get items cleaned. Exterior finish

Our's is less than two years old and the motor is making strange noises and the exterior finish above the door handle is starting to come off. For a thousand dollars, I expect more. I am sure I will be buying a new machine soon and I can tell you it will NOT be the same brand.....

Horrible material used in racks

Racks are not made of stainless steel hence plastic melts. There is no to way to add pictures in the forum or you will see the deteriorating plastic shelves!

Sounds like a helicopter during some cycles

Purchased this dishwasher in July of 25. It operated fine for quite awhile then we started noticing a faint intermittent sound. We thought the sound was part of the rocking motion of the lower spray arm. It just got louder and started sounding like a helicopter, so about two months before the 1yr warranty expired I called to get the dishwasher repaired. Long story short, the repair company could not stop the noise even after replacing the pump & motor, the diverter valve and the lower spray arm....

Broke Down After Three Years

Trouble and more trouble

First, the heating element went out, leaving the dishwasher running with cold water and not getting dishes clean. Then there is a clicking noise during dry cycle. A service tech said it was the electronics panel. LG is dragging its feet now in paying for a new panel and labor to install. 3 techs so far have told us LG is a nightmare to work with. Agreed! We'll never buy another LG product.

Save Your Money

From the very first day, the drying performance was disappointing. Even with rinse aid and trying different settings, the dishes rarely come out completely dry. Cleaning performance is only average at best, and I often have to rewash items. The third rack is another letdown. It constantly sticks when sliding in and out, making it more frustrating than useful. Honestly, I would rather not have it at all. To make matters worse, just a little over a year after purchasing it, the dishwasher leaked...

Definitely a TERRIBLE purchase!

We have had our dishwasher for just over 3 years now. It first stopped working just a few months after purchasing it. We have had it repaired 3 times already and now it is not properly working agin. Persistent Chemical Odor During Normal Operation

I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. Poor quality product, not long lasting

Product was purchased in June of 2023. Beginning of 2026 dishwasher consistently kept getting louder but still cleaned dishes. In April of 2026 dishwasher had a horrible burning smell. Dishwasher was then stopped, upon trying to restart dishwasher we discovered that there was still power but dishwasher had a sizzling noise and would no longer run.

Poor quality

Poor component quality, motor failed after two years causing a leak in the kitchen. Replacement and service takes forever.

Didn't last long

Already Needs service within a year. Mostly used it for sanitizing or just a drying rack after washing dishes.

Complete Garbage!

Not only is this thing loud, but, the layout of it is AWFUL!! The bottom rack has a large gap in the middle that doesn't even make sense when that's where normal people put plates etc. The inside of the door is already dented as well from hitting things from inside and we've had it less than a year...not that I'm surprised as the weight of the door feels like a tin can! Buying this has been very eye opening...NEVER AGAIN will we buy LG kitchen appliances, they are JUNK!!

Good features, abysmal quality

When I buy appliances, I will try to justify buying an LG appliance. My research has shown me that for my use-cases, they offer me the best combination of features and quality. This has proven true with every major LG appliance purchase so far (7 in all) except this dishwasher. I love the features of this dishwasher. When it's working, it really is great. Super quiet, works great

It was super simple to replace the old dishwasher with this one. We rented the $20 truck and brought it home. It uses fingerprint-less stainless steel that works great (unlike the fingerprint prior non-stainless stainless steel). Easy to swap out. Looks great--and the inside was also all stainless. Love the trays that can go up or down, plus the additional silverware rack. Everything comes out very clean. But the best feature--it is SUPER quiet (vs our prior noisy one).
