Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 80-volt 16-in Straight Shaft Battery String Trimmer 2.5 Ah (Battery Included) (Charger Included)

Nice trimmer with two flaws

Powerful trimmer clears out thick weeds. I does the job very well. Battery lasts long enough to clear out the 40 yard ditch on my property. Downside #1. I was able to buy replacement string heads for other trimmers I have owned. They just snapped in place, very easy. There are no replacement heads for this. I have to manually re-string the head which is time consuming and frustrating. Downside #2: The shield at the end of the pole is too small. I get pummeled with debri from head to to...

string doesn't work

The string doesn't come out automatically like most weed eaters. you try to tap the bottom and nothing happens. trying to restring it is very difficult also, plus didn't help.

Strong cutting makes short work of yard work.

As a long-term fan of Kobalt yard products, I have passed my enthusiasm on to my adult children. So when my oldest son asked for a string trimmer for his birthday, I ordered this one. He has been very pleased with the performance and ease of use. While the 80volt model is heavier than any other battery powered trimmer he used in the past, the weight is within limits and is balanced, and the power is great. Kobalt is my go-to yard equipment.

One to keep buying!

This is the third one I have bought. The updated model is Super easy to string! I love these trimmers.

Great power of battery operated

This trimmer has the power I had hoped for. Only used once at this point but pleased and would recommend. The reason I gave 4 stars is the delivery was not predictable. Did not arrive when originally told, took a couple of days to give an update, then did not arrive on the date given.

still waiting

ordered this trimmer 2 weeks ago with an estimated (per website) delivery of 4 days from time of order. When I check tracking, a new 'delayed' note appears. Three 'delayed' notices later....no trimmer, no status, plenty of weeds

Powerful Trimmer

I have several Kobalt 80V garden tools and added this trimmer to my collection. It is well balanced and easy to se. I am impressed with how powerful it is. I used it for an hour and the battery was still going.

Get the best battery operated tools on the market

I got the new weed eater and it came with a charger and a battery so I am ready to get those grass cutting things done, just one more thing not to have to do, you guys with the honey due list know what I am talking about

Expensive Junk

The spool popped off, and an eyelet got lost. You can't buy just that part. The head doesnt come off easily, but if you get it off, you can't buy a replacement. I went to Lowe's, helped get the head off, but the replacement heads will NOT work.

Works as expected

The string goes a little quickly and it’s heavy but it works great!

80 volt kolbalt string trimmer

run time and cutting - great , but a bit heavy

Great lawn trimmer

80v provides more power & lasts longer for tougher jobs.

Good run time and great balance

Love that this weed eater is so quiet. It is easy to reload the string.

Weed eater

This weed eater works very good. The only complaint is the battery life on setting 2… I have bought a 5amp battery to replace the 2.5 amp that comes with it.
