Great product, good power; battery life and durability. Only downside is automatic line feeder worked for one day then crapped out. Same as my previous Kobalt; so other than manually letting line out I highly recommend!

black grip handle won't tighten enough to use

the black grip handle has a bolt & a nut built into a tightening knob to allow you to put it on & tighten it to set it where you want it. the nut is stripped so you can't get it tight, & you can't use it. that makes the whole thing unusable until I find a work around but I shouldn't have to do that

A Win for Kobalt

I was replacing my old weed eater and decided to match with my mower. Both 80v maxx batteries. I love this thing. The only thing I don't like is I prefer a drop in when I run out of string. I do not like doing the restring.and it may not be hard but it's inconvenient. And I did not know when I bought it that I couldn't use attachments with it. it's not extremely important but would be. nice addition. Worse than previous version

We have an older 80v Kobalt string trimmer, and because it has the motor up close to the battery, it can use the same generic attachments as gas string trimmers. I assumed that would still be the case with this newer model, but unfortunately it's not. It can only ever be a string trimmer, not an edger, polesaw, etc. But it works well enough as a string trimmer.. until it didn't. After replacing the string the other day, it stopped working. I bought this back in May 2025. I had surgery in March and really couldn't use my gasoline powered trimmer anymore. I already had the 80 V blower and so buying this with two batteries was kind of a no-brainer. We live in a rural area and I have used this to cut down heavy grass and heavy Johnson grass. I did find the .095 line to be a better cutter for heavy stuff. It is a little bit more difficult to put in the trimmer. I have used mine for an hour the time and never had the battery run out. Th...
