Awesome trimmer...good luck finding parts.

I purchased this a few years back. I didn't use it last summer because the head was busted. This year, I bought the Shakespeare Universal Fit Line String Trimmer Replacement Head (Item #1160413 | Model #17367), which definitely does NOT list this model as one of the replacement solutions. I decided to see if I could MacGyver it anyway and...the Shakespeare Head works.

either runs thru reel of string in minutes, or won't feed string at all. Too frustrating to deal with.

Strongest thing out there

Other than the fact it's corded, this thing is powerful. I changed it from string to those metal blades for brush and there is nothing stopping this thing. Had it for 4 years and decided to go to battery powered and although it works, this thing is missed. My dad has it now and he loves it still.

Bought march 2023, the bump and spool cover is broke. went to order replacement can not find online. called them now on hold for over 30 min. It should not be this hard to order parts for their product. The parts should not brake after one summer of use. can not afford to keep buying a weed eater because i can not get a replacement part.

Weird Failure

I loved it until it broke. Nice to not have to mess with small gas engines or to make sure batteries are charged when you have the time to tackle the law. Strangely, the polarized plug fused together with an electrical cable and would not release (seriously stuck together). In trying to separate them, the tine ripped off the plug. I took it to a repair shop and they wanted more than it cost to replace the plug. Now either need to decide to do it myself or find a dumpster.

I would not recommend this for a regular person. like myself out of shape. it is very heavy. I am unable to take off head to unclog the line. it is literally stuck. last year a man loaded it for me. unfortunately I didn't watch. but once all that's out of the way. it's very easy to use. it works really well. it's heavy duty. it kills my back, arms, legs within 15 minutes. if you have big job, it's perfect or very strong. if little jobs get something light and easier.

Avoid Kobalt products

We bought this trimmer in May 2022. Now we are finally need line refills BUT Lowes does not carry any that fits. They only carry ones for the newer models. This has been a nightmare for us for the last few weeks to find line refills that fit. Nothing so

Decent Trimmer

I purchased this on sale for $60 and I would not necessarily pay more. It does the job and is powerful for the price; the only issue I have seen so far is that the plug is very loose, so you should use a locking extension cord to give it a secure power connection.

String Gone Bad

Very disappointed because the trimmer worked really well but the string went bad after one use.

I have used string lawn/weed trimmers since they were invented. I've owned trimmers of all brands. prices and power modes. Because of my age, I decided to "down size" on my properties from acreage to a puny little piece of grass no bigger than a putting green.
