What Customers Are Saying
The Kobalt 80V cordless chainsaw offers good power and performance, easily handling medium to large branches and trees up to 12-14 inches in diameter. It provides convenient operation with a long-lasting battery, quick start-up, and quiet, fume-free performance compared to gas-powered models. While generally well-built, a few users reported issues with the chain or saw stopping after some use. Overall, it is a suitable option for homeowners and light-duty tasks, though may not be suitable for heavy-duty professional use.

Good Saw Overall
Would RecommendI’ve had mine for several years and have taken down and cleared many trees. I have a 2.0 and a 2.5 aH battery to swap if needed. My only complaint is that the chain tensioning screw seems to have stripped. I can no longer tighten my chain. It’s out of warranty, so I guess I’ll dig into it myself to see if it’s repairable.
Decent chainsaw.
Would RecommendPerformance is adequate.

Awesome purchase!!
Would RecommendNeeded something to keep in my truck when I travel to our property. Always have some type of downed trees or limbs. My niece and cousin used it for our work weekend. One is 19 the other is 12. So easy to use!!

Worked for an hour or so
Would Not RecommendThis worked really well until it just stopped working. Cut one small tree down and the start button is lit up and it clicks over when engaging the trigger, but just won’t work. Kobalt seems to be having issues with motors burning out lately, as a long time kobalt guy this is disappointment.

Strong Power for a Battery Chainsaw, But Heavy
Would RecommendI was impressed with the power of this 80-volt 18-inch battery chainsaw. It cuts through medium to large branches easily and feels comparable to a gas chainsaw without the noise, fumes, or pull-start hassle. Pros: Very powerful for a cordless chainsaw Starts instantly with the push of a button Cuts clean and fast Much quieter than gas models No gas or oil mixing Cons: Heavier than expected, especially with the battery installed Battery drains quickly when cutting thicker wood Not ideal...

Return
Would RecommendI had to return the item, not because it was defective. It was a much appreciated but unneeded gift. The return process was simple, and the customer service representatives were very helpful. I really appreciate the service I get at Lowe's, and plan to be a customer for a long time. Thank you!
