Would Not RecommendLasted 1 job. On the last lug the ratchet broke. The gear mechanism stripped at 100 ft/lbs. total garbage.

Poor quality head
Would Not RecommendIt is a acurate toque / angle wrench BUT the gears are starting to bind, lock lock up, skip after some casual use on aluminum bolts. the tool has 1 year of warranty which is kind of pointless for a DIY-er. Help me find a new head guts for this thing, please.
Follow directions
Would RecommendHaven’t used the 1/2 yet, but expect it will function just as the 3/8 did

case sucks too few teeth frustrating to operate
Would Not Recommendthe display case is trash and wont stay closed after being opened. all other torquewrenches come with a latching case so why bother getting this one. display is difficult to operate even after reading the manual a few times. ratchet has so few teeth it has to be swung so wide just to get one click its not even useable underneath the car even with the hydraulic jack at the highest setting. trash tool. returned and trying out a sunex next

Works great at first but does not last.
Would Not RecommendI bought this torque wrench to do a timing belt change on my wife's Honda Pilot (I have now done two, she's on her second Pilot). I like that fact that it would do 250 ft. lbs. and that it would do degrees of rotation. I also torque my trucks lug nuts to 140 fl. lbs when I have removed a wheel for maintenance.. I have used this wrench less than 10 times and now the ratchet slips which is pretty dangerous when trying to torque lug nuts to 140 ft. lbs. It has started slipping. I have taken the rat...

Poor instructions, poor support from Kobalt, avoid
Would Not RecommendI followed instructions to install some preset values only to discover those values could not be cleared by following instructions, which come in 4 languages all mixed together. Called Kobalt support twice and could barely understand the support person (non native English speakers), the first person suggested having the Lowe’s personnel look at it (as if any of them were familiar with the tool) and the second just declared the tool defective. When using the memory button to get to a preset and...
Case is a joke
Would RecommendHave not used this torque wrench yet to evaluate performance, but it gets ZERO for the case design. It is a display case held together with pins that are easily lost, don't refit and don't hold the case together. How hard would it have been to make a hinged case? Whoever designed this case needs to be sent to outer Mongolia. The manual -- which needs a magnifying glass to read -- says to store torque wrench in case. How can it be stored when the case top is useless. I will have to use rubb...

Great addition to my box
Would RecommendFor anyone worried about bad reviews, this appears to be a slightly updated model from the old one #80719. The only changes are that the previous awful battery cover has been changed to a simple and reliable threaded cap that simply twists out with a screwdriver or hex wrench, and it now comes with an open top tray instead of a plastic latching case. My only gripe about this tool is that there needs to be a separate button for switching to angle mode. Any time you are cycling through different t...
Really nice Torque Wrenh
Would RecommendI needed a new torque wrench. I did a lot of research and was going to HF to buy one. They had in their ad a price comparison for the same wrench. When I went back to Lowe's site, I found that actually Lowe's wrench was $30.00 cheaper than HF. So it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where to go. I used it for the first time on a 170 lb torque, it worked just as advertised. My only suggestion: if you don't use this wrench too often, remove the cap off the batteries so they won't ...

Thank you for pointing out the updated battery cap. It was indeed updated due to the number of comments about the prior style.
