Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 232 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Good quality tools, kinda cheesy tool box.

The tools are good quality. The tool box itself is nice for being hard plastic but the drawers are hard to open and close. Maybe they just need worn in. Overall, it’s a good set of tools for the price.

tool set

Tools are great but were the wrenches went some of the openings were crushed

Nice set in junk box

Box was broken and the latch would not close properly. This WILL NOT stand up to daily use unfortunately.

Good set missing a tool

Nice set. Delivered earlier than expected. Unfortunately it was missing the 3/8 6 inch extension. I would give it more stars if it weren’t missing the extension.

Great set

Only complaint it was missing two sockets. But it was half off so the $8 I spent getting them was okay.

Dont Waste Your Money

Have not had the tool set 6 months with minimal usage and the case is already broken. The black Kobalt header has pins on each end the sit in a plastic slots and the plastic broke.

Good Price

Good quality for the price. Bought for $99 on sale. reason for 4 stars is, the tool set was missing 5 mm 6pt socket and had two 5.5mm. Customer service was not helpful at all. not a big enough deal to return for an exchange. Cobalt customer service used to be top notch.

Junk Case

I bought the 232 pc set 99 bucks great tools no doubt but the case Wow really Kobalt? Went and bought Craftsman tool box and Cabinet took drawers out of cheap case fit right in Craftsman tool box. Solved!!!

Tools are great, box is crap

Haven’t had any issues with the tools themselves over the past 3 years but the design of the toolbox kinda sucks. The sockets bounce around and prevent the drawers from pulling out and most of the sockets just sit in their cradles and dont snap in so they arent really secure. The tools get the job done though so I can’t complain in that department. The box definitely needs a redesign. Not bad for $200 I guess.

2 tool boxes, both missing parts!

My first set was missing a 1/4" socket. Called Kobalt customer service and was told to return it to the store because they can't replace 1 socket. So I drove 35 minutes to the store and swapped it out. Now I am missing 1/2 of the 2nd drawer and have duplicates of the 1st drawer. Same statement from Kobalt, take back to the store.

Super weak case broke in shipping

Toolbox broke in shipping. No way it will hold up against daily use

Great toolkit!!

Everything is laid out nicely and has very visible markings!! Helps with my OCD for sure lol! Def like having 3 different socket wrench sizes to choose from. Also having both 6 and 12 pts is handy to find the perfect grip.

Tools that are a must have at a great price.

Excellent product, durable and perfect for your home tool needs.

Good Tool Set

I don't use mechanics' tools very often anymore; however my first minimal set was purchased decades ago, and many of the wrenches and sockets have been lost along the way (thanks kids). I finally decided to buy a fairly complete set and wanted something that wouldn't be very expensive. This tool set fits the bill. I prefer Lowes because of the 10% military discount they offer. I like the plastic box because I'm hopeful that a specific spot for each item will make it easier to find what I nee...
