Very nice vise action, but jaws are sloppy

The jaws don't always align, but they can be alogned manually. There is quite a lot of slop in the tool. However, the vise grip action and release are really nice.

Great locking pliers

Sturdy & solid fit. The hand grips are very comfortable and hardy. These work and release very well.

Solid set for the money

So far, so good. A solid set of locking pliers at a great price.

Easy release mechanism that doesn't bind.

I really like the locking method. My normal "vise grips" often lock so hard I have to use another tool to actuate the release mechanism. I would have given these 5 stars, but I'm concerned about how the plastic release button will hold up long term. If the plastic proves durable, then they would get 5 stars.

The needle nose failed within the 1st half hour of use adjustment screw stripped out and was able to unable to use it. Failed in front of an important client!

Kobalt is tightening their grip on me lol!

At first, I was a little worried about the release on both sets. And to be honest, it took me a little bit to actually realize how to use it efficiently. But now that I have it figured out they’re amazing and the fact that I can use a ratchet and a socket to tighten it down as much as I need it blows my mind that we’ve never done that before.

Not what I expected for the brand

Set is a great design but after opening the pack and before use i immediately noticed that the top and bottom jaws didn't line up correctly and that the rivets in the handle and locking unlocking mechanism was quite a bit looser then should be and let the handle wiggle around significantly.

Clever design. Superior to 'vice grip' type lockin

Very clever design. Superior to 'vice grip' type locking pliers. 'Push button' cantilever fulcrum pin release no matter how tight make these easy to release without banging your knuckles like other locking pliers. The tightening screw is ready for a socket, pin punch (hole) or box end wrench to REALLY tighten the jaws AFTER you lock them for 25% (est.) more holding power. Inexpensive also. A favorite purchase and a great gift.

The best release mechanism ever

The build quality, fit and finish needs to be improved, but the release mechanism is so good that these are still a must have. Wish they were available in a Knipex level build quality.

Waste of time ordering online.

Only received 1 pair, which was slightly damaged. So, I had to make a trip to the store to exchange for the 2 pack I was supposed to receive, which is what I was trying to avoid.

Great set of pliers, easy to use one handed.

This plier set is Great! I can easily press the lever to open the pliers with one hand.
