What Customers Are Saying
Customers are sharply divided on this screw extractor set. Many praise its effectiveness and ease of use at an affordable price, yet nearly as many report the tools are brittle and snap easily under moderate pressure, sometimes breaking flush with the screw or lodging fragments in bolt holes. Some users note success with patience and proper technique, while others experience catastrophic failure during critical moments. Overall, reviewers describe performance as unpredictable and reliability inconsistent, making this a risky purchase despite occasional positive results.

Very weak
Would Not RecommendThese items are fragile and did not take much to break, I would not buy them again. I did not return them because I could not find the pieces that broke off and I almost busted my knuckles when they broke, very upsetting.

Literal junk. Waste of money - NEGATIVE 5 Stars
Would Not RecommendHoly crap this is the most worthy pile of crap I have ever used. Both the drill bit and screw extractor snapped. I don’t know if I can return it but I am going to try. Never buying anything Kobolt related.
Unreliable
Would Not RecommendThe bit broke right away and the extractor did not grasp broken screw.

Worse than Total Junk
Would Not RecommendI consulted engineering tables from 2 sources to find the right size extractor for a cammed out torx rotor screw on my brand new bike. I bought this bit and the Kobalt T-Handle wrench for it. The screw had a well-centered pit in the bottom of the head, so it was easy to drill a perfectly centered hole with the included drill bit. The extractor bit fit into the hole well. I started turning, the bit dug in -- and then the bit immediately snapped off, flush with the screw.
DO NOT BUY!!!!!
Would Not RecommendI bought this extractor because it was thicker than most of the others so I figured it wouldn't break like the thin weaker tools. I did everything right got the extractor centered in the bolt, turned it with not much effort before it snapped in half. Now I'm buying all these expensive grinding tools trying to grind the hardened metal extractor piece out of the bolt. Not worth it, just try to drill the bolt out instead of buying this crappy tool. It'll save you time and money.
Mistakes were made
Would Not RecommendThis is absolute trash and I’m sad I missed reading the reviews on this. I couldn’t even get it to drill into the screw before disaster struck. I’d rate a 0 if I could
Completely ruined a lower unit
Would Not RecommendI attempted to remove an aluminum screw in a outboard's lower unit with this. all it did was break off in the screw making it completely impossible to remove. Do not waste your time or money as this will just ruin what you're working on
Very weak
Would Not RecommendBought two different size kits, one extractor broke off in my bolt hole making it now impossible to remove the broken bolt. The other kit broke the drill bit. Both broke with moderate pressure.
Hot Garbage
Would Not RecommendI bought this to remove a set screw from a garden hose vacuum breaker as well as two stripped screws from a flag pole mounting bracket. The only thing it did was obliterate the set screw in the vacuum breaker, and didn't work at all for the slightly larger screws in the bracket. This purchase was a waste of money.
