Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 297 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the tools for solid construction, durability, and reliable performance, with ratchets feeling strong and sockets well-finished. Most appreciate the comprehensive assortment including SAE and metric sizes, deep-well sockets, screwdriver bits, and wrenches, calling them ideal for home repairs and DIY projects. However, many criticize the storage case, reporting that sockets dislodge during use, jamming drawers and making them difficult to open. Reviewers describe the case as cheaply made with flimsy plastic and poor internal holders. A few mention missing components or isolated mechanical issues. Despite case concerns, most customers find the core tools excellent value and recommend them.

Would RecommendIt is a good tool set. The only thing missing is a three-quarter inch socket and a 15/16 socket. I don’t know why you would leave out commonly used sockets?

Very poor quality
Would Not RecommendArrived and all the tools inside were loose to the point where the drawers won't even open and you can't get to the tools at all

Can’t open the drawer
Would Not RecommendReceived the tool kit but unable to open one of the drawers due to the sockets shifting. So now it has to be returned. What a hassle. I’m completely done ordering stuff online when there’s zero customer service available.

Good set but not a great case.
Would RecommendThe drawers don’t come out far enough to remove the last row of sockets easily. They are rather difficult to remove. Also I would pick up in store instead of having them shipped to you. A lot of the pieces came loose during shipping and I almost couldn’t get the lower drawers open because of it.
