Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt Universal Fit 0.080-in Line String Trimmer Replacement Head
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers report significant frustration with replacement part compatibility, with many finding spools and trimmer heads do not fit their models despite universal labeling. Several note parts are unavailable in-store and online, forcing them to abandon the system entirely. Threading and design inconsistencies across generations render worn components irreplaceable. However, a minority report successful installations and praise improved spool design and durability. Those who succeeded often required third-party research and tools. Overall, incompatibility and parts scarcity overshadow positive experiences for most users.

horrible replacement
Would Not RecommendThis product will not screw on to my Kobalt trimmer. Evidently they changed the thread size or just don't care.

Would RecommendHaven’t used it yet but it was easy to replace the existing one.
Ordered replacement head to hedge against failure
Would Not RecommendOrdered online since local store no longer carries 80v products in store. No longer have any 80v products on display in store.
Good but need correct tools
Would RecommendThe product looks sturdy but it’s near impossible to remove the old piece and the new/ old don’t mesh together properly

Best Kobolt 80v product
Would RecommendI have had Kobolt 80v Weed eater for 5 years know. I purchased as a spare just in case this goes obsolete. This is the best weed eater I have ever owned. Five years and still works like the first time I bought it.

Appears to be good quality.
Would RecommendProduct appears to be better quality than original. Will know more after weather breaks and it gets put to use.
DOES NOT FIT KST 2580-06 TRIMMER
Would Not RecommendTHIS DOES NOT FIT KOBALT 80 Volt MAX KST 2580-06 TRIMMER ! I even called customer service for 30 minutes to discuss and they verified it will fit. The center threaded insert nut does not fit the thread of the center shaft. Everything else looks similar but NOT THE SAME! Now I'm out of the money I spent on this.

Discontinued parts
Would Not RecommendI purchased what I thought was supposed to be an excellent string trimmer in 2018. Now I cannot get this part as it has been discontinued and the customer service person even stated that it was a wearable part. Now the trimmer is totally useless. I can't believe Kobalt and or Lowes would do such a thing.
