Would RecommendIt's nice to do a quick confirmation that a line is cold after i switch it off at the breaker before opening up wires. I know the voltage tester isn't as reliable as a volt meter, but it's a nice check before getting deeper into an electrical box.

Would Not RecommendI should have listen to the bad reviews as they are spot on. I just picked this up today and put the batteries that came with it in and nothing. I then replaced with newer batteries and nothing. The unit would not turn on. Why are these still being sold and why is Lowes selling them. These should be pulled from the shelf as this is a waste of time and gas. I normally listen to the bad reviews, but thought maybe I would give a try, but the bad reviews were correct. Shameful!!!
Easy to use and reasonable price
Would RecommendI needed a tester and this one was recommended by a friend who is actually an electrician. I see why as it is very straightforward. I like the simplistic design and the fact that I can't "mess anything up" as he would say. Easy to read instructions and very reasonable price.

Two defective in a row
Would Not RecommendI bought one and it didn't work at all. One of the batteries was fully dead, but even with a new battery it didn't work. I returned it and bought another, also doesn't work. I plan to return that and give up. The only positive thing about this was the easy return.
