Accurate and versatile
Would RecommendI have been using a moisture meter with pins, and the readings are not very accurate. This pin-less actually reads into the surface more accurately. The are 4 modes - hardwood, softwood, sheetrock, and masonry. It has a nice display and a hold option to keep the reading after lifting the meter. It operates on a regular 9V battery.

Moisture reading without damaging your material
Would RecommendThere aren’t many moisture readers out there that don’t damage the product your testing. This surface moisture reader is a great alternative to the prod moisture readers that require you to stab the product you’re testing. I put this up against other meters that require you to stab and it provides the same readings without requiring you to stab into the wood. Klein did a remarkable job with this one and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone I know looking for a moisture reader.

Cheaply Made, Unreliable Accuracy
Would Not RecommendThis pinless moisture detector is cheap to say the least. Don't expect it to hold up in your tool bag, it's built like a kid's toy. And the accuracy...I compared some findings with moisture detection from a very high quality and accurate moisture detector with pins, and it was really bad. Don't expect much accuracy. And for the price....a rip off. I'd return it but I can't find the packaging or receipt.
