A Great Kitchen Toaster!

I've always had toasters from the big box stores, so when I had the opportunity to get this one, I wasn't sure what to expect. What it is, is amazing. First, it is STOUT! It has some real heft to it and feels substantial. Second, the dial to determine how light/dark to make your bagels or toast, actually works. Third, the bagel button actually makes the toaster cook the bagel evenly throughout. The thing that will really surprise you is the loud 'Beep' when it is done. It seemed a bit much at fi...

Not effective

Takes 5 minutes to toast. One side burns while the other is too light. The coils take 3 minutes to turn red. I expected better for the price.

Produces dry, hard toast

I've been using this toaster for a few months now but have yet to figure out how to keep my toast from getting "hard". Never had a toaster that produced hard toast - while not burning it. This is the case whether I'm toasting bread or English muffins. My guess is that because the toasting cycle is a few seconds longer than my other toasters (yes, I have 3 toasters of different brands!), it dries out the bread. I have a friend who says she likes her toast this way so perhaps this would be a go...

Fine Toaster

Toaster works great in performing its primary function. However when it has finished toasting the bread or bagel, it chimes a bell that scares our dog and she scurries off to her bed. Weird, right? Yessir, and so I would like to know if there is any way to stop it from chiming.

Good toaster, annoying alarm

Toaster works really well but has an annoying very loud high pitched alarm when toast is done. This alarm cannot be turned off or turned down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this one is exhibiting the same as the last one - one side of the bread toasts darker - our last one began this and then finally failed and it wouldn't stay down to toast the bread so right now we're a bit concerned if this will end up the same way - typically your products are good

makes good toast but needs some things changed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] good but I would change a few things. the toaster is too big with alot of wasted space. seems like they could streamline it into a smaller footprint. Second thing is the lever doesn't lift up manually to cancel, it felt like it was gonna break until I went to get some reading glasses to see which button is the cancel. third thing is that it toast pretty slow. it may be that it's limited by the amperage but the supersize slots do not help....

THE WORST TOASTER EVER

I PURCHASED THIS TOASTER. WORST PURCHASE I HAVE MADE IN A LONG TIME. EXTREMELY OVER RATED. UNDER A YEAR OLD AND NOW BURNS TOAST ON ONE SIDE EVEN SET ON #1. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING KITCHENAID

Died after 3 years

I was so disappointed that my toaster died after only 3 years. My previous toaster was no-name brand that lasted over 20. I expected more out of a reputable brand like Kitchen Aid.

Beautiful and reliable

Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I love it. It seems to toast evenly. Sometimes one section is a little more done than others, but it’s not consistent and it’s not drastic. It’s doing what I wanted it to do and looking good doing it.The only thing that’s questionable is that the Opening to the crumb tray is not wide enough to allow all the crumbs to fall into the tray. I’m not sure how to get these out safely.
