What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the coffee maker for excellent brewing quality, consistent hot coffee, and attractive design. Many highlight the Bold setting and reliable temperature retention. However, a substantial group reports serious carafe durability issues, describing it as extremely fragile and prone to cracking, with replacement parts difficult to obtain. Some note design quirks including condensation dripping, water spilling when removing the carafe, and a miniscule brew basket latch. A few experience reliability failures or customer service difficulties. Despite these concerns, most customers remain satisfied with the brewing performance and consider it worthwhile.

Would Not RecommendCoffee machine works good. It’s nice the alarm is not as loud as other machines. Two delay timers are very nice for weekday and weekends. However the carafe design is flawed. At times coffee seeps under the plastic neck. Then when u put it back on the heater coffee leaks down the carafe.

Useful Features Work Well
Would RecommendMachine works very well with several useful design features. Medallion Silver would be a much better finish than the matte grey, which is raw plastic. A quick guide came with but not the user guide that must be downloaded.

Great Cup of Coffee
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brews a very nice cup of coffee in a relatively quick timeframe, plus love all the features.

A very good machine with small annoyances
Would RecommendA good, but not great, coffee maker. It makes a decent cup of coffee, but coffee would be better if the water was just a touch hotter during brewing. Filling the reservoir at the sink is a great idea, but since I'm always going to be rinsing the carafe, it's simpler to just fill it and pour the water into the reservoir anyway. Space is tight on our countertop, so I have the machine facing outward, to save a few inches, but by having the controls on the side, they are hidden. Finally, when you...

If only looks counted....
Would Not RecommendLooks nice, but from day one the carafe has been a nightmare and collects condensation and drips down the handle on the the heat plate

Generally Pleased, Expect Long Life
Would RecommendI’m really a 3.5 but rounded down for a few reasons. There are a few oddball items about the design and function I wish I knew ahead of purchase. In order of annoyance level: (1) no brew size selection, the pot will brew an amount of coffee equal to what’s in the water chamber; while this is ‘fine’, per se, being able to fill the reservoir and brew partial pots would be ideal. (2) the way the brew basket “locks” into place is cumbersome and seems likely to break/fail as it’s just plastic-to-plas...

THE ITEM IS OK BUT IT DRIPS WATER AROUND THE TOP OF THE LID AND THE CARAFE WHEN YOU POUR COFFEE. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE LIGHTIMG NEAR THE CONTROLS.

Great coffee maker. Poor quality carafe!
It is difficult to accurately rate our coffee maker based stars alone. So far, we love the coffee maker yet are very disappointed in the carafe which shattered while the coffee maker was in the midst of brewing spilling hot coffee all over the place.

Happy customer
Would RecommendOur model 1208 was purchased in spring o 2020 and it the best machine I have ever had ( over 50 yrs). I just bought the 1209 model. I love the upgrades...honestly you will be sorry to pass up this coffee maker...you will love it!

Great Coffee Maker
Would RecommendWe purchased this about six years ago when we had gone through several coffee makers. We purchased this along with the coffee grinder. We could not be more pleased and we have used both at least twice a day for six years. No issues.

Poor Overall Design - Showerhead is Terrible
Would Not RecommendWe purchased this coffee maker for a standard countertop drip coffee maker thinking KitchenAid makes a well known, well thought out product. We were very disappointed. Predominately the showerhead retains alot of condensated water. When you open the lid, water spills all over the counter, and when you go to prep coffee for the night before, cold condensated water saturates the grounds before brewing starts the next morning. Upon trying to return the product, KitchenAid refused because the pr...

No replacement carafe
Would Not RecommendThe carafe is extremely fragile. Mine broke with the slightest tap on the sink, and I cannot find a replacement anywhere. Without a carafe, the machine is completely useless. Unless the company makes replacements easily available, I would not recommend buying this product!

Lots of leaking
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coffee tastes great & it’s easy to use, but the pot leaks every time you pour & grew mold around the stainless finishes because of that. Also every time I open the lid to clean out the pot water drains from the showerhead & is all over the counter. Too late to return, but can’t use the pot with the mold.

Needs portion control settings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only issue is you can't select how much to make other than how nuch water you add. For the price, I would have expected better functionality.

Good if you don't mind grounds in your teeth.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It makes good hot coffee but I'm using the paper filters because it's messy trying to get the grounds out of the nylon one that came with it. However the water doesn't drain out of filter fast enough and the over flow puts grounds in the decanter.

Makes great tasting coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Especially like the removable water tank and the operation choices and functions. Makes great tasting coffee quickly. I would have rated it higher if the led was easier to detach from the carafe.

Leaking around the seal of the pot
Would RecommendWe love this coffee maker however the seal around the pot isn’t working. Every time you pour the coffee it leaks. How can we go about getting a new pot? This is a sentimental gift so replacing the whole unit isn’t what we would to do.

Design flaws require workarounds
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mostly like the coffee maker but I can’t ignore some basic design flaws and unfulfilled needs. First, it’s no surprise that this is placed on a counter and there’s likely to be an upper cabinet above it at a standard height. However, you cannot fully open the top to add/remove the coffee filter because it is too long and hits the upper cabinet. When opening the lid after brewing, water condensation flows down the outside and over the buttons ...
