I would buy again if I needed

It drills a nice clean flat hole but it is slow , every drill bit whether spade bits forstner bits their slow but they make a smooth hole. I'm making a project that needs smooth bottom holes.

Not good if you’re looking for something precise

Bought two of these at the same time and the diameter of the holes drilled by the bits are off by about 1/8” from each other.

Size is incorrect

While I genuinely like Irwin products, this one was extremely disappointing. The size was off by 1/8” dispite being label as 1-3/8” 34.9mm. The actual measurement was 1-1/4”. Others on the site verified the mislabeling, both on the package and the incorrect marking on the shank of the forstner bit itself. Just wish I checked before I set up my cabinets work. great bit for accurate hole cutting

Cuts the hole eventually

Cutting 2" by 1.750" deep, blind holes into various softwoods for hobby crafts. I bought Irwin based on my previous experiences with their tap and dies, but I'm not at all impressed with this bit. I'm having to be extremely careful not to stall out my drill press during a cut, resulting in about a 3 minute cycle time to cut a 1.750" hole. If this was for anything other than a one-off project, I would be on my way to return it.

At first i thought this was a great forstner bit. Untill i tried the Diablo. The irwin was not cutting as clean as it could. Diablo is way better

Bit works like a charm

Great quality forsner bit, used it to drill out cabinet doors for hinges. Well worth the money!

Useless

The bit would not go through some hard wood that bought it to use on. Extremely disappointed. Barley worked on cedar. 👎🏻

Maybe ok for soft wood but not for hard wood

Drilled 14 1/2" deep holes in oak which went ok as long as you are patient. Had to sharpen the bit to get through 7 more holes. Have been unable to adequately re-sharpen to continue using it.

It can get destroy if it hits a nail inside a wood

very strong and reliable for cutting wood , a longer shaft would be better

The item matches the description

This is a good product for the price, the blades dulled relatively quickly which is why it’s always better to buy more than one fostner bit. I haven’t found any better brands yet. This has been the one to last the longest so far!
