Extremely pleased with these fans
Did not realize, but basically grew up with these fans in my parent's house. It's not until now that I'm doing some renovations around the house that I realize these fans have been working flawlessly in my parent's house for 10-15+ years. Still super quiet, can't be beat.

Garbage
Would Not RecommendThis fan is garbage, I picked this one out and had my electrician install it. It vibrates so bad and wobbled like crazy. Screw you Hunter.

Installed 7 Model 23856 52” Original Fans in 1996
Would RecommendI installed seven white 52” Original fans in 1996. Over 20 years of quiet reliable operation. I just replaced the blades on the fans installed on the lanai. I have been using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to keep the blades clean. The Interior fans still look new and are quiet.

Forward and reverse switch fell apart
Would Not RecommendI just purchased 2 23847 fans. Upon installation and opening the bottom of both fans the switch in both of them fell part

Solid,quiet,heavy but easy to install. Replacing similar model that lasted over 20 years.

Not installed yet
We bought 5 of these in anticipation of installing them in our newly-built home, which is still under construction. The boxes are very heavy which hopefully speaks to the quality of the fan; however we were disappointed in the lack of lighting kit options for this model - and the difficulty we had in determining what our options were. Hopefully we'll be able to find universal lighting kits that suit our tastes better.

Would RecommendThe Hunter Original is a heavy-weight, solidly built fan. Our last one ran for 27 years before needing to be replaced. We also love the classic look.

Would RecommendI still have a Hunter original fan that I bought in 1986. It is now in my third house because I take it with me every time I move. It still works perfectly and moves a LOT of air. It has been a great investment over the last 3 plus decades.
