Easy install
Would RecommendInstallation was very easy. Once put in place you only have to screw it in and it is now ready to use. I mounted my fixture to it and had no issues at all.

Works as it should
Works best to install before Sheetrock, the box is set for 1/2” Sheetrock when installed on the rafters

not galvanized metal as description states
Would Not RecommendNowhere on the packaging or instructions does this product state galvanized steel. The packaging only states "steel" on both the new work and old work models, even though the product description states "Hubbell RACO Galvanized steel". Disappointing as my application is for an outdoor fan. (My nephew suggested spray painting with Rustoleum Stop Rust to slow down the rust on the "steel" ceiling fan bracket in my application.)
Punch the hole for the electrical wire first
Would RecommendI successfully installed two ceiling fans using these mounts. I had access to the rafters in the attic which made them easy to use. Instructions were clear. Note that you may need to modify the mount depending on the thickness of your drywall. I had to but it was easy.

Does what it was designed to do
We bought this to replace an old ceiling box so we could install a ceiling fan. Other than the annoying issue of working in an attic, the unit was easy to install and gave us a firm and solid base to mount the fan.
