Bought this piece of junk two years ago. Use it four months of the year in the summer in the basement. Year one-great with hose drain. Mid-second year, hose stopped draining. Cleaned out port, still not draining. Weeks later, stopped filling bucket. Total operating time-7 months over two years. Out of warranty but still called Hi-Sense and got nowhere with them but 'sorry'. No tech support troubleshooting, not able to buy parts. Sayonara. Couple hundred $ down the drain, pun intended.

broke right when warrenty expired

seems to have been engineered for 25 months. I was impressed for the first 24 mouths, no problems. but now it won't work and has and error code e9. I'll have up call customer service to see if it can be fixed.

Didnt last 6 months

Began freezing up and cutting off after less than 6 months

E9 Error Code

Purchased this unit in July 2018. By October of 2019 E9 error code displayed and unit has quit working. Tried resetting by disconnecting power. Will run for short time and shut down. Seems to be a common problem. (Google it.) Don't buy this unit unless you purchase the extended warranty. Trashing this unit and getting a GE.

Poor Product

I bought this last summer.it worked great, but this Summer it didn't work at All.I went on the company website to trouble shoot.and it still won't work,the sad thing is its been a little over a year since I bought it.I was confident it was a good Dehumidifier so I didn't buy the extra warranty.I spent $220.00 and now its trash.

Product should be recalled

Within 9 months the dehumidifier quit working. I am getting "E9" on the readout. This is the second Hisense dehumidifier to do this to me!

Poor to no performance

After reading a couple of reviews I thought I may shed some light on problems that others have had. This product continually collects ice in coil, freezing up (suggests poor design). This leads to water accumulating in drain tank (water from melting ice wont run out of hose) as the glacier melts. When the drain fills and shuts the unit off the rest of the ice melts running down the back and creates a large puddle on the floor. When unit is emptied and restarted it just freezes up again. Do not buy this product. The coils will ice up like the other reviews. If I could choose again I would have choosen another brand

STAY AWAY FROM Hisense Dehumidifiers

I spent $300 for a Dehumidifier that would not drain through the hose. They told me to tilt the unit to the right so it would drain properly. After that, my unit started to ice up. I let it thaw and tried it again, and it iced up. Their customer service is awful and being out of the warranty by two months, I have no recourse, but to post an unsatisfactory experience and not to buy them. I have complained to Lowes so they know and get enough complaints to not stock your products.

works great

I purchased this dehumidifier for my workshop to keep the moisture levels down for wood working. It only took a few minutes to get it up and running. In the first twenty four hours it removed four gallons of water from the room. I finally hooked a hose up to the drain so I wouldn't have to keep emptying the tank. Definitely does the job

Frosts up 2 inches from bottom, then stops working

Bought this unit in July 2018 because it was high-capacity. Worked fine from July 2018 through end of season. Tried starting it up in May, froze up about 2 inches from the bottom then, when frozen would no longer dehumidify but it kept running. When it thaws, leaves a giant wet spot on the floor. Although it is getting warmer, I still can't get the humidity below 70 without it freezing. I will try the 877 number this week to see what they can do...

Hisense 50-Pint 2-Speed Dehumidifier ENERGY STAR

I highly recommend that you buy the extended warranty for this product brand. I have owned three of them over the last two years and everyone has quit working. Basically they last for the first summer and after you turn them off for the winter, they don't work for the next summer. So, make sure you tape a plastic bag with your receipt and extended warranty to the back of the machine so your ready to go when you figure out it ant working.

Purchased 1 year ago, stopped working.

I selected this unit for the features, size and 2 year warranty and based on reviews. It worked great for almost exactly 1 year. It started frosting up only 2 inches from the bottom. I called support, they were polite and had me explain the situation. They sent a refurbished replacement. The unit arrived in about 2 weeks. Too long IMHO. Poor Product

Unit operated less than a year. Manufacture would not resolve defective product.

Broke after one summer

This thing is garbage. Used it for literally 4 months last summer, went to pull it out for this summer and I got an E9 message and the unit no longer works. Completely ridiculous.

Quit Working

Bought this for use in my basement, collected a ton of moisture as it should. About a year in, it started vibrating and making a terrible noise heard up to the second floor. It still runs but the noise is unbearable, so I've stopped using it. Hisense makes garbage products, this one is no different. Very upset I spent $200 for it to last a year.

It works!

We are using this dehumidifier in a small greenhouse and it works great. My only complaint is the amount of heat it generates. It’s as all space so it gets warm quickly.

Poor design .. Impossible to empty

I bought this after one of my GE units of 15+ yrs died, so I do know how to operate a dehumidifier. Lol 1- “50 pints” The bucket capacity holds *maybe* 1.5 gallons. Which means it must be emptied soooo often. 2- such a struggle to empty, bc it’s impossible to get your fingers into the grooves on the bucket. The unit moves with you as your trying to pull.
