What Customers Are Saying
The product features a mixed quality, with some users reporting the inserts can work well if installed correctly, but the installation process requires specific techniques. Careful selection of the pilot hole size and drilling technique is important, as using an incorrect hole size or improper tools can easily damage or break the inserts. Overall, the quality of the inserts is variable, with some customers finding them brittle and prone to breakage, especially in harder woods.

Would Recommendthese inserts could be better with a taper at the bottom to facilitate starting. To help start the insert, screw a long bolt into the insert so you have some leverage to aid in starting the insert perpendicular to the wooden surface.

Good, but...
Would RecommendUsed these to replace inserts in my kayak that fell out. Worked, but these are SOFT brass and deform will screwing in. Adapted by putting screw in and driving using stainless screw's head (harder, more durable).
Name of item: insert nut.
Fit perfectly; parts held together with solid feel.
Good Quality
Would RecommendThese are good quality inserts. Seems like they will do the trick for what I need.
Pricing

Brass wood inserts (small)
This applies to these smaller units. The top part is designed to have the unit installed with a screwdriver. Harder wood causes too much torque on the top parts which will break off before fully seated. Brass is not a good choice for small pieces, and these should be made of steel.
Worked Perfectly
Would RecommendUsed to re-attach the rail side of a cabinet door hinge in our travel trailer; worked perfectly! Reiterating what others have said, do not use a flat head screw driver to try to set these, especially in a hard wood, as is likely to break. Instead use a cap screw with two nuts. Tighten the two nuts against each other far enough up the cap screw such that the threaded-insert will ride up the cap screw to seat against the first nut with at least 1/2 of it's threads engaged. When releasing back the ...
Very good little invention
Would RecommendWorks perfectly!
Simple to use
Would RecommendProduct worked perfectly!
Easy to break
You have to drill the hole at the exact right size - too big and it doesn't hold strong enough, too small and you can easily break it while screwing it in.
Insert nut
Would RecommendIt's an insert nut, not much more to it than that, it'd be great if there were more sizes available.
Repair
Would RecommendI was advised to use these on plastic. I tried it first on wood and it worked fine. The plastic was much tougher and I enlarged the hole twice by a 32nd each time. It worked the last time and the repair is holding.

Yes, and no.
I like the outer wood thread profile; good bite without a lot of displacement. I did not like the weakness, in the wings of the slot. There is really not enough material to provide sufficient torque.
