Would RecommendThey do work as long as you don't follow the instructions that Lowes has posted. The SLOT is NOT for a flat head screwdriver. Use a 1/4" bolt and 2 jam nuts with the insert installed slot first. This slot is for cutting the threads into the wood. I used a 1/4" impact driver after drilling a 5/16" hole 1/2" deep and they all went in perfectly. You will need to loosen the jam nuts with a wrench to release and go to the next one so have a couple 5/16" open end or combo wrenches handy. I did use the...
