A least cost option that worked great

this worked for keeping the nut tight on a small deck support project. galvanized for rust protection and half the price of the coated versions. Make sure to buy a correct sized and length drill bit to keep the carriage bolt seated and prevent water/metal degrading.

I used carriage bolts and wingnuts to create a flower press - these were extremely sturdy and worked well for what I needed them for.

parts were good, the package was broken and torn, all loose in the box that was ripped. luckily nothing missing.

Great - when I get what I ordered.

Ordered 8 identical 3/8" x 8" bolts. Received one that was 3/8" x 7" and one that was 5/16" x 8". Apparently, somebody didn't watch Sesame Street growing and can't tell when "one of these things is not like the others". Otherwise, the six correct bolts tend to work very well for my application, but 75% quality control on an online order for fasteners of any sort means not finishing the project when promised.
