Ratings & Reviews for Hillman 1/4-in x 2-1/2-in Silver Zinc-Plated Hex -Head Interior Lag screws
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these lag screws for exceptional strength and reliability, with most noting they hold heavy loads securely—such as 40-pound TVs on swiveling brackets or workbench vises. Reviewers highlight razor-sharp threads, hex heads that resist wear, and ease of installation with a simple ratchet or socket. Many appreciate the straightforward design for wall-mounted applications and penetrating drywall into studs. Customers consistently report excellent value compared to premium mounting kits, with strong satisfaction and willingness to repurchase. A few report occasional head snapping under torque, but these isolated concerns are far outweighed by positive feedback.

I used this to mount some items to the wall, pre drilled holes, screwing in the lag bolt and right as it was about to be snug, the head snapped right off. I had 3 of the 16 bolts I bought snap.
