I dig oversized holes for annuals and perennials and backfill with a mix of half this product and potting soil. I also use this product to build a berm around new plantings to facilitate watering. After plants are established I spread the berm as top dressing around the plant.

Dont buy - Sticks, rocks and metal in bags
Would Not RecommendI purchased over 70 bags and every single one had 1/3 dirt and 2/3 sticks, rocks and metal including one bag had a metal screw in it. Definitely not what I thought when I purchased these. I see when customers post similar reviews the response from Lowes is always that it does contain forest material. The amount inside the bag, though is more than the actual dirt itself. I have included pictures of all the debris found in the bags.

Great for garden growth
Would Recommendused to buy a different product before I shifted to this and have been totally satisfied with its results. The quality is better and is finer and has much less gravel and stones almost negligible. The down side of it is that it sometimes has different consistency from bag to bag, and the color and texture is also different which could be due to moisture content.

Would Not RecommendNot good value for money. Mostly sand, very little organic matter in the mix. Light brown sand with a few sticks. I hired helpers to unload it for me and as they opened the bags and emptied them I realized I had been sold heavy bags of damp sand without compost or manure. There’s not a way to return them so I just chalk it up to experience.
