This toaster has a 1 slice only feature but I am not sure what it does since both sides of the toaster still turn on. The toast comes out very light and crunchy so it works well. I have not tried a bagel yet but it works better than my old 30 year old toaster so that is good.

New Toaster
Love the sleek design and that the slots are wide enough for a bagel and long enough for some rustic loafed breads. Cord could be a little longer to allow more versatility as to where it can be placed if you want to leave it out on countertop all the time.

OK not great
I had my previous toaster by this brand for 21 years before the heating element started to go out. Purchased this one and unfortunately the other reviews are correct. After a loaf and a half of toast, not 1 piece browns evenly on both sides.
