Secure fastener
I tested these GRK #9 x 2" multi-purpose screws on a block of pine and a block of maple. The Fast Bite Zip Tip (TM) started the screws in both blocks without a pilot hole or center-punch mark. The screw went in quickly and smoothly. The T-25 star bit (included in the package) held the screw securely. The CEE Thread (TM) is advertised to reduce splitting. Screws were poorly manufactured. Drill tips were improperly placed too far up the shank of the screws. To drive them in without a pilot hole took forever. The only way to use them was to start with a hammer. Poor quality.
