Would RecommendThe screws worked well, however, I had to predrill the holes in order to avoid splitting. The screws come with the correct driving bit, but you may need a magnetic extension.

Would RecommendI found these screws helpful and useful. I don't think you should used any screws on the top of exposed deck boards. Keep the integrity of the deck and attach so water does NOT soak into the boards.

Not A Five Star Rated Screw
Would Not RecommendThese Grip Rite screws under performed. The tread is too shallow and won't always pull the screw down flush. Strips out about 10% of the time. Hard to get the screws started to the point that I starting each screw with a few taps with a plastic hammer before driving screws. Polymer coating clogs star head and bit jumps out damaging wood (10%). Bit supplied very cheap, won't last thru a 1lb box. Clogged star heads partly responsible for bit failure. Lastly, a Lowes supply problem forced me to buy...
Sharp screws
Would RecommendThese screws are the only ones sharp enough to use without first having to create pilot holes. We cannot find them anywhere except Lowes.

A good screw
Would RecommendI used these to secure some scrap 2x4's together for some landing gear pads for my 5th wheel. Only one or two had too much polymer for the bit to firmly seat in the head. Anyway, a good screw is hard to find.

Would RecommendBuy these if you want drills, NOT if you want screws. The "Plus" screws strip your anchor hole out every time so your boards are loose. TERRIBLE!
