Didn't last long

This machine looks good and makes ice when it wants to. We haven't had this machine for long and it seems to be already needing maintenance. It currently makes a very loud noise which apparently means it needs to defrost. Not at all what we were expecting.

Love the ice but not the maintenance.

When it works the ice is great. But the machine is consistent and does not always work, often creating a high pitched squeal that is only stopped by unplugging and not using. This is my second machine as the first was returned after 2 weeks for the exact same issue. I’ve only had this one for 3 months. I clean and descale it very regularly but it is honestly not worth the trouble. Will be seeing refund

Too much of a hassle

This machines seems to not work more than it actually works. Descale light came on, took all the proper steps to clean/descale machine and the light wont go off. The suggested cleaning times always give me a water issue, keeps saying ADD WATER. Even when its full

Good ice

Spend more time descaling and sanitizing than getting ice.

Works great

I’ve had mine for about 3 months. I have had to replace the filter and do routine sanitation. My machine has worked great. I use the “Smart HQ “ to set a timer to turn off and on the machine. I have seen a lot of bad reviews but if you follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions the directions, it works great.

Noisy

This thing can get loud! I mean really loud! Not the usual operating noise. This sounds like it could blow up. I am considering returning it.

Preheat elsewhere

The AI suggests I review this ice maker based on its preheat function. I don’t understand what that means. It also says the filtration is important to the ergonomics, consistency, and nugget.

Great ice

Sanitation process required too often, otherwise enjoy the ice.

Cleaning takes Time

It works great, but cleaning it takes time. More than I expected, but it’s necessary to maintain it, and the ice is pretty much perfect! Noise is an acceptable level. Get the side tank.

Great Appliance

Great appliances, if you like crunchy chewable ice this is for you, makes ice fast and the water tank helps the machine keep running long

Amazing!

Overall the nugget ice maker is amazing! Only downside I would say is that when the tray is full. Eventually the ice would kind of melt but if the tray had better insulation of some sort to keep the ice nice and cold while it’s full that would be more amazing. But overall it’s amazing and my whole family loves it. Once it starts making the ice it makes it fast!

Not as good as older Opal Models

I had one of the earliest models of the Opal and have noticed this Opal 2.0 produces ice that is less of a nugget and more of a loose packed bit of ice and snow type ice. Disappointing! It does make "ice" but is so substandard that it melts nearly immediately in drinks compared to the nugget ice my older Opal produced.

Love this ice maker!

Love this ice maker, so far!! Looks beautiful, produces nice, small nugget ice, timely. We have a very busy kitchen with teenage/young adult, active, athletic children and this product keeps up with the pace! Having the side water tank is a big plus. Not too loud, love the light feature too!

Not a fan of scale inhibiting

Had the opal 2.0 before 7 years loved it. This time got the scale inhibiting one and it is SO NEEDY! Constant cleaning descaling expensive filters etc. was easier buying distilled water.

Great appliance.

We love this ice for all our drinks. We have tried the ice at relatives and friends home, just had to have our own machine.

Good quality easy to set up and get started good capacity love the Bluetooth connection so I can monitor on my phone

This is the worst purchase I’ve made in a long time! I’ve only had it a couple weeks if that and its already having issues!! I would never recommend this product

Easy to use and love opal ice

I love this Ice machine, continually makes ice when needed and stops when full and best features is the side tank and filter. My ice tastes fresh. Opal ice is the best ice for crunching on especially when it tastes this good!

Great Ice Nuggets

I love my new GE Ice Maker. Very easy to set up and to use. Lets me know what it needs and what is going on. Takes up some space, I have a small kitchen, but well worth it.Great

Soft ice!

Excellent ice maker. Spend a little time each month running the descale/cleaning cycle,which you should do anyway.
