I came here because I’m having issues with my refrigerator and wanted to see if I was the only one and disappointed to see that everyone is saying same thing! Ice is barely made. Bait and Switch Installation

I am totally happy with my GE Appliances but I am Completely Unhappy with the Installation Lowes Used to sell a $200 Dollar Installtion. Free Installation was advertised and the Lowes Salesman Pitched it as refundable. I closed the sale. Little did I realize was that buying multiple (3) Appliances, the manufacturer offered a percentage off as incentive. Disappointed: 3 years and it's replacement time.

My wife hates it. We've had it 3 years and we found that the freezer door doesn't close easily. When it doesn't close properly, the contents thaw and we lose what's in there. This has happened at least 3 times in the 3-years that we've owned it. We just bought its replacement. We will let the folks making delivery haul it off.

not happy

Fan issues, circuit board issues, compressor drawing high amps. not going to last long. Fridge is 6.5 yrs. old. when you pay a hefty price for an appliance. you expect it to last. I wouldn't recommend this Fridge. ice build up issues,freezer cold refrigerator warm. JUNK! Shame on you GE!

French doors limit ease of use

The refrigerator has limited capacity for storage and the French Doors are a nuisance to use. The freezer drawer is difficult to use. However, the drawers for meats and other items are well designed and the digital settings are easy to use. The ice maker works efficiently, but the ice cubes are small. The biggest problem- the right front door had a faulty gasket - it was actually disgraceful to sell a unit with this defect and it took over a month to get the gasket replaced!

Defective

This is the first time I’ve had issues with any of my GE appliances. For the year I’ve owned this there have been nothing but issues with the lower fridge freezing and upper fridge heating.

Doesn't live up to its name

The refrigerator looks great. However the performance is lacking and the layout is less than idea. The doors do not shut easy, you meed to be sure you push the doors to close tight. The ice maker is poor. It takes to long to make ice and the dispenser really lacks the ability to to move ice through. The holders inside the door are poorly designed. The plastic is cheap and thin. How much can cost be removed from this expensive refrigerator that feels cheap.

Would not buy

Capacity is good but cooling is terrible. Have had to have it repaired three separate times for either freezing food in the crisper and doors or not cooling food enough despite settings.

Good Set Up

Capacity is 3 cf smaller than our previous GE but the shelf arrangements are more efficient and we can make better us of the space configuration. We only needed the ice maker but this came with that and a water dispenser on the outside. My wife likes that and the stainless steel smudge resistant finish. We are happy after a full month of use.

Great but door ice/water dispenser needs light

I like the configuration of the shelves and drawers. I had a french door refrigerator before and like the style. My last GE refrigerator had curved handles and this one does too but they are slightly more modern which I like. The options on the ice and water dispenser on the door are not illuminated. Only the last option used is lit. This is annoying when the kitchen light isn't on.

Ice Maker in Freezer

Let the buyer beware. I assume it came with a second ice dispenser in the bottom freezer. Once installed I realized it is an extra feature NOT INCLUDED!

Not a good time to review

This isn't a good time to ask for a rating. Try next week. Right now the freezer isn't cold and ice maker is not working. Right now. Not worth the money. I have service man coming Monday.

Only lasted 2 years

We purchased this item, PYE22KYNFS, in May 2024 and had to replace it in May 2026. However, we have had 3 repair companies come out since December 2025 (replacing various components including refrigerant, refrigerant drier filter, evaporator coil); they couldn't fix it for longer than a few months each, so it really only lasted a year and a half. The symptom was the freezer not maintaining a low temperature resulting in food spoilage and an inability to make ice due to the freezer issue. The ...

DON’T BUY. Ice maker gets clogged constantly.

Whoever designed this ice maker needs a new job and should never be allowed to work on refrigerators again. This ice maker is ten times worse than my parents’ refrigerator from the 90s. You’d think that through the years, icemakers would become more advanced or better, but not this one. The ice constantly gets stuck in the ice chute and clogs up. Not to mention, if you are getting crushed ice, it goes everywhere but your cup. It’s so bad that it’s almost worth getting a new refrigerator.

Great Counter Depth Refrigerator

Our new GE Profile Counter Depth Refrigerator is great. It replaced a 9 year old unit. The only thing we miss is the digital display on the old one that measured the water ounces dispensed. We added the second ice maker and it's great. We now have plenty of ice. Fantastic Refrigerator!

Great until it stopped working

USED to love this refrigerator. I have owned it 3.5 years and first the ice dispenser stopped working, then the freezer stopped working. It's leaking somewhere inside and can't be repaired. I bought it as part of 4 matching appliances in Slate, Profile brand. There is no longer a Profile refrigerator that has the same features with counter depth and Slate color. Other brands are looking better and better.

Does not show fingerprints.

This is the same refrigerator that we have had. We just now have a newer model. we feel this is an exceptional unit for us.

GE Profile Refrigerator dented

Not for me

This refrigerator was in a house we just purchased. I am not impressed to say the least. I have not been able to change filter after following the manual and every video I could find; can it be put in backwards? I really don’t like that I have to open both doors to open the drawer! The freezer is tiny. The ice maker is slow and is often melted together when I go use it. Water dispenser splashes every time.
