What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise the cooktop's rapid and even heating, sleek design, and powerful yet quiet downdraft vent system. Most highlight the responsive burners and modern aesthetics as major strengths, with many noting improved reliability compared to older models. However, some report frustration with surface staining and cleaning difficulty, requiring excessive scrubbing after minor spills. Several customers also experienced hardware defects with undersized or stuck fasteners during installation. Despite these drawbacks, the vast majority consider the cooktop a worthwhile purchase.

Product is great but don't have Lowe's do the inst

The countertop itself is great. The size was an exact match for our previous KitchenAid cooktop. That is where the problem with Lowe's installation, which was supposed to be included. The contractor they sent said the cutout in our countertop was too small and left. I measured it myself later and it was exactly within the manual specification. Lowe's installation was a waste of time and were going to charge me for a lot of unneeded work.

We bought a home that was built in 1990. It had a 35-year-old GE downdraft exhaust electric cooktop that was in excellent working condition. We decided to replace it with a new GE downdraft exhaust electric cooktop (Model #PP9830SRSS). Nine months later, the new GE downdraft exhaust fan controller snapped off internally at the controller connection stem. The new cooktop controller connection stems are made of hard plastic. This is a very bad design! It should be metal. The 35-year-old GE electri...

Delivery guys - Mark & Luigi 5 STARS!!

Would Recommend

I haven't installed the cooktop yet. But those delivery guys, Mark & Luigi, were great. Cheerful, strong, totally unfazed by carrying something heavy and awkward into the kitchen.

Second time, knob still breaks

Would Not Recommend

Two different times we have purchased this and the knob breaks again 🫠 completely deletes the purpose of buying a vented cook top when the knob breaks. Can't use it now.

2 days heavy aluminum pans-marks & scratches

Would Not Recommend

OK so I did something wrong. But, I don't even know what caused the white spots. Would water on the pan cause this or a bacon splatter or an aluminum lid or shaving? Will the ridges on the bottom of a heavy aluminum pan cause the scratches. I can keep from splattering or sliding a pan. But, getting others in the household to do so is a difficult task. Pretty bummed this is after two days. Marks on three burners and scratches on one. Any suggestions on least toxic non stick cookware would...

Needs downdraft adapter

Would Recommend

Seems to be a very nice piece and I’m sure it’s one we will enjoy, especially being a former chef. If you have an older general electric downdraft model, you will need the square adapter to fit into the existing hole, The downdraft shaft is a little bit longer than the older model.
