Will Not Defrost

I bought this refrigerator a little over 2 years ago. Since then, I have replaced the temp sensor and the defrost heater and still have an issue with the freezer not defrosting. Love the counter depth.

The refrigerator is set at 37 but the food freezes on the two bottom shelves, so I had to turn it up to 38 and it runs at 42 inside. So far it's been ok. It really needs a light for the controls, I can't see if it's cubed or crushed ice

Not even close to our prior GE

We loved our last GE refrigerator. This new one is a piece of junk. The rubber moldings don’t stay in place. The plastic on the drawers has already broken. The plastic cover on the water and ice dispenser drain doesn’t fit and covers the catch bowl. This is embarrassing engineering. I can’t imagine how poorly the internals must be.

Looks nice but very noisy.

Love the slate color. But disappointed in how noisy the refrigerator is when the compressor is on. I had a GE fridge before and it was no where near as noisy as this refrigerator. It’s very distracting when you are in the kitchen.

Already Replacing

We bought this refrigerator about five months ago. Have had the warranty service team out twice. Once to replace the ice maker then the evaporator motor/blade. Now the refrigerator is not working again. Time to move on, we are chalking it up as bad and expensive experience. Will never buy or recommend a GE appliance.

Temperature not consistent

I have no complaints about the freezer, but the refrigerator is too warm in some spots, and too cold in others. I have thrown away so many spoiled strawberries because they froze 1 day after buying them, and our milk goes bad in a day or two because it’s too warm on the top shelf even though it’s set to the coldest setting. I had the warranty service come, they took one temperature reading and said it was fine. Our refrigerator is currently set to 33° so why is our milk 40°? What a joke!! Also...

Good fridge so far

Having had a previous GE Fridge in the "Adora" line from 2014, I expected much the same. And we got the same color (slate), which is GORGEOUS. This one, counter-depth, is a nice fridge with nice lighting, but I was a bit astounded to see how teeny the ice reservoir is in the freezer - I guess that makes it lighter when removing it I suppose. It has THREE crisper drawers in the refrigerator, which some don't, and I am SO glad - we use two for fruits & vegetables, and one for lunch meats & chees...

So far so good

Lots of ice, never out. Almost could fill cooler. Runs, quiet, no mold or problems. Water dispenser fast, and no warranty issues...unlike those pesky LG's (problems)which I owned before. 2nd GE product I own, rather pay the money, (or in this case save lots of money) for a GE than these other brands.

Love it!

One of the best refrigerators I have ever owned. The temperature stay cool. It reads what temperature for the fridge and freezer. It also tells me the percentage my filter is on. I also have to option if I would like for my light for my water dispenser to stay on or off.

Why can't it be leveled?!!!

So far mediocre. It is not even possible to level the side-by-side refrigerator front-to-rear! (Model GZS22xxxxx.) Only the front rollers can be adjusted up and down, but even with them completely down, the lower front protrudes 1 1/4" further out than the top! This model doesn't have adjustable rear wheels. our floor is level as is our cabinetry. The unit works well and for that I am pleased. The LED lighting is great. There is more interior space than our 2004 36" wide model had.

Poor excuse for a refrigerator

the ice maker does not work properly it produces less then 1 quart of ice in 24 hours

defrost system is awful

We bought this fridge in 2020 which I realize is now 6 years old, but during that time span I've had to fix it numerous times. Always the defrost system in the freezer. First the temperature sensor, then it worked great for a year until the heating element went out, and later the thermostat. Every single time I have to move all the stuff into my ugly, decades old garage freezer that can still actually freeze stuff somehow while I work on my awful stupid new freezer. I only wish I lived close...

We got this fridge, and it had a high pitched noise, so we had it replaced after just a couple of days. The second one was very slightly better, but it still has a high pitched noise, most of the time. I think it's the compressor, because it sounds like it comes from the bottom of the fridge. I have to turn off the breaker to give myself a break sometimes. The design of the fridge is good. The noise is not worth it.

Great features!!!

Great side by side refrigerator. It's fantastic that it has a door alarm, so we can be sure that they aren't left open for too long, which happens often in my house. Also, the option of different buttons for ice and water, thus avoiding confusion. And the interior illumination is excellent, you really can see everything inside and looks great.
