Ratings & Reviews for GE 18-in Portable Freestanding dishwasher ( Stainless steel ) 12 Place Settings with Condensation Dry , 52-Decibel Standard Sound Level

Broke in less then a year and half.

We bought this dishwasher for our small home. It’s less than 2 years old and it’s broken. It needs a new control board and it’s not worth fixing. A dishwasher should not die in less than 2 years. Apparently it needs a new control board and it’s not worth fixing according to the warranty. Very disappointed especially because money is tight.

Great dishwasher for a one bedroom apartment

This is an amazing dishwasher and the size and portability is perfect for my one-bedroom apartment. My dishes sparkle like never before. Great stuff, GE!

Couldn't fit my dishes in the slots

I returned the dishwasher because the slots were so narrow that I couldn't fit my dishes in them. If you have a lip on your dishes, do not buy this machine. And on the top tray, there are only two areas for dishes/glasses. The other one is too narrow-- only good for spatulas etc. Very poorly designed.

Great little dishwasher!

Nice little dishwasher and the dishes are clean. Can't ask for more than that, unless you figure in how quiet it is.

Meh

It takes over 4 hours to do a small load. It has a weird rubber smell while operating, and some things don’t get clean. It's better than having to physically wash dishes, but not by much.

Control panel hard to see/rack hard to organize

I'm finding organizing the dishes in this washer a bit more challenging. Some items fall through if you are not careful. And I wish the control panel wasn't hidden away when you close it. It's hard to tell what stage the washer is at. Overall though, I'm pleased with the quality of the cleaning. I was particularly impressed at how well it does using the shortest cycle, the 48 minute one.

Compact and quiet

Nice and quiet, small enough for my apartment, works well

Quick, quiet, and effective

This dishwasher has been life changing already and fits in our tiny apartment kitchen. I’ve only used the quickest wash cycle and it’s surprisingly effective at getting dried bits of food off. It’s also easy to hook up. The cords can be a little tricky to get back in, but that’s a minor inconvenience. I’m happy with this purchase.

not the best but only one in catalog

I am not that happy with the washer it is not what I really wanted but had to take the dishwasher as is...do not like the controls in the door where I have to stand on my head to see where it is in the cycle....bad item by who ever it was that came up the idea on the controls in the door where you have to open it all the time to see where you are at in the cycle

Top tier

I thought I’d have to give up some capabilities to have a portable dishwasher, but this is top of the line. Cleans well, fits a ton of dishes in its narrow frame, and has all the cycle options I want. Very easy to plug in and go every time. The only minor issue is that the water tubes don’t go all the way back into the frame, but it goes most of the way and I’m still able to fit it into its small space without issue.

So quiet!

PROS - I love how quiet this dishwasher is - I can be on conference calls five feet away, and my mic won't pick up the sounds of this dishwasher. I also love having a piranha again, since my kitchen does not have a garbage disposer. CONS - The peg configuration on the lower rack is a little odd, forcing the plates to be slanted, and I haven't quite figured out how to fit in both plates and bowls in an efficient way.

Great

Great dishwasher. We just wished we knew that sprayer hose attachments are not recommended to be used with this dishwasher before buying.

Big Upgrade For My Kitchen

For the last three years I've been operating with "countertop" dishwasher and I was never happier when it finally broke and the manufacturer told me to "toss it" rather than try to repair it.... So, hardly thought twice when replacing it and upgraded to this 18" roll-around floor model that fits in my tiny gallery style kitchen perfectly. It works fine and gets the job done with much less hassle than the alternatives... but there are a few quirks to be aware of. For example, for some re...

Works great

Very happy! So easy to use and very portable. Perfect for a small Space

Perfect for small kitchens or cabinets

This portable dishwasher exceeded my expectations. It is very quiet, cleans dishes perfectly, moves any direction with ease. It's simple and secure when attaching it to the faucet

First attempt is off to a good start

The dishwasher was delivered today and I’ve just successfully started a auto wash cycle plus sanitize on it. The instructions booklet was easy to follow. The machine moves smoothly on its wheels.

Efficient

Good water saving portable dishwasher. Looks nice.

We love it

It is a regular dishwasher that works just as good as a 24 inch wide dishwasher. Hold quiet a few plates and silverware. Large pots and pans takes up lots of space so we wash those by hand.

Fits perfectly and works well

My kitchen is so small and old that a built in is not an option. This is a perfect compromise.

Just what I needed, works great

Unit is Compact and cleans the dishes great! My little apartment needed it!
