Easy install

First off, I haven't had a dishwasher for 22 years so I am very happy with this one. It's not noisy at all and its capacity is great. It was really easy to install. You do have to buy the power cord though unless you plan on hard-wiring it. I've only had it less than a week but I couldn't be happier.

It's a inexpensive alternative

This is a low end dishwasher. It's really sad. I use it a few times a week and it does not really dry the dishes.

Excellent features especially timer

I love digital timer to help know when washing dishes will be done.

Ge slate dishwasher

Let’s see whoever tested it didn’t pump it out so all the paperwork was wet and when I went to install this 50 dollar dishwasher that sells for 900 it poured water all over the floor. In the future either put real insulation on product or don’t. Don’t insult us by putting the 1/8 thick window dressing and expect it to pass.

Love the feature

Really love the feature on front control panel. It allows you to know when the dishwasher is on and when it will finish. Top control panel doesn't tell you if your dishwasher is on

Good but not as good as my old one

It does the job but it’s just not as good as the one (also GE) it replaced. Not as sturdy, less capacity although the comparison said it was the same, and the door squeaks like a haunted house.

Overall good quality product. Easy-to-use display, large capacity and energy efficient

Buy a different brand

Leaking constantly and cannot get ahold of anyone to fix it. Only automated answering systems taking me in circles.

Terrible Design and Purchase

Would leave a zero star if possible. Bottom shelf constantly falls off the tracks because they measured it incorrectly. The wheels are too narrow and fall off the tracks every single time the bottom shelf gets moved. Do not recommend this product to anyone.

My problem

It smells of detergent when I open the door every time. The noise level is higher than my 21-year-old GE was. However, it cleans the dishes very well.

So many Bells and Whistles!

Very nice GE Dishwasher with all the bells and whistles. Noise level is quite and color Slate is fantastic for finger prints or smudges, you can't see them. The Sanitize Cycle was important to me to get my silverware and dishes cleaned efficiently during this cycle. Large plastic Interior tub always looks sparkling clean without water stains. I recommend this model #GDF550PMRES.

Overall this dishwasher does the job well.

This dishwasher does a good job cleaning the dishes, and is quieter than my older Whirlpool model that it replaced. I gave it 4 stars because I don't like the rack layouts as much, and the top rack isn't level. I also have to "jimmy" the top rack when I slide it back, to make it fit into the water connection fitting. I let the dishes air dry and have not used the dry cycle.

Slate Dishwasher

This dishwasher is not the best. Much louder than my previous GE dishwasher.

Disappointed

Poor bottom rack design compared to the old ge model it replaced. Generally cheap feel to the interior. We liked the old ge and selected this one because it was far less expensive than the lg dishwasher but it doesn't approach the quality of the old ge model. The new ge model washes what it hits well but the poor rack design leaves too many opportunities for missed surfaces or poor drainage and drying.
