What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this product for exceptional tick control, with most reporting near-total elimination or dramatic reductions after use. Many highlight the convenient spot-on format as superior to daily sprays, and several credit it with protecting horses from tick-borne diseases. Reviewers also note moderate fly reduction as a helpful bonus. However, a notable minority report serious skin reactions including welts and raw patches, with some requiring veterinary care. Most horses tolerate it well, though customers advise testing on sensitive animals first. Overall, reviewers strongly recommend it for reliable, long-lasting tick prevention.

Would RecommendI live where there are A LOT of ticks and this really helps keep them off my horses. I’m not sure it does much of anything for flies or mosquitoes, but it’s been really helpful for ticks.

Great for Sweet Itch
Would RecommendI bought this to prevent ticks as they seem to love my horse that lives out 24/7. (I found a tick under her hood in the middle of the winter.) So far this summer I have not found one tick on her. I also focus my application on her chest and stomach area (the sweet itch spots) and it helps immensely. The sweet itch went away quickly. I missed an application for a week and it came back almost immediately so I know this stuff works.

Difficult application
Would Not RecommendI remember why I stopped using spot on fly/tick control years ago. Having to try it again since Frontline Spray has been discontinued. I cut the smallest tip that I could, and still had difficulty controlling application to the recommended spots. One of my horses had an adverse reaction, probably the transdermal carrier of the permethrin really irritating. Too messy for me to use again.

Poor dispensing
Would Not RecommendTerrible dispensing method. The precut area for the opening is too large and insecticide comes out too fast. The measurements for the amount to dispense on the many areas of the horse is extremely crude. Seems like it would be a simple fix to put in a more user-friendly dispensing tube.

Keeps the ticks away
Would RecommendI have been using this for years on my horse. It definitely helps keep the ticks off of him. He is a very sensitive skinned thoroughbred and he doesn't have any reactions to it... other than his emotional reaction LOL he hates when I put it on I guess it feels itchy to him. He gets over it in about a half hour.

Works well.
Would RecommendStarted using this on my sensitive skinned Thoroughbred with insect bite hypersensitivity. He also has had Lyme disease and anaplasma from ticks in the past. He moved to a new barn and was coming in daily with deer ticks and blood from fly's on his legs. He wears a fly sheet and mask but doesn't tolerate fly boots well. Immediately after starting this product both the ticks and blood stopped and have not returned as long as I apply it as directed. Only gave 4 stars because it is messy (wear glov...

Horse had bad reaction
Would Not RecommendI put this on his and immediately he had a reaction, I gave him a bath and he was ok. I know a few people told it worked on their horses. So, it maybe a good product for some. It says on cover if horse has a reaction just to bath them.

Didn't notice a difference and stains white legs
Would Not RecommendI really haven't seen any difference. My horse still gets flies immediately after application and mosquitos on trail rides and I still have to pull off crawling ticks after our rides. It also left oil stains on my horse's white socks that lasted for weeks and is messy to apply (wear rubber gloves). Maybe it helps deter ticks for horses on grass, but my plump ponies are on a dry lot.

Not the product for sensitive horses
Would Not RecommendTerrible product for us!!! My horse was biting at herself and very upset with the product. It was super scary!! Not sure if she had a chemical burn or just extreme irritation, but we WILL NOT be using this product ever again!!!

Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is easy to use, easy to remember, and reduces the gallons of fly spray I go through. It has great coverage and overall I am extremely happy with it.

I haven’t actual used it
Would Not RecommendI purchased this by mistake. I haven’t used it yet. It only last two weeks which makes it pretty expensive.

Great value
Would RecommendThis product does a great job deterring flies and ticks and lasts much longer than traditional fly spray.

Bye bye Flies
Would RecommendHave been using this for about 10 years and it never fails. We have 2 geldings that react horribly to tick bites. Equi Spot kills the ticks before they become a problem. Works equally as well on flies.

Works Great for Some - Not for Sensitive Skin
Would Not RecommendI live in a pretty boggy area that is prone to excess ticks, flies, and mosquitos. My young TB is very sensitive to bugs and I am constantly worried about ticks because we hack out in the densely wooded areas. Several people at our barn (my trainer included) use Equi-Spot religiously so I thought I would give it a try for some extra protection. While they have had great success, My biggest piece of advice with Equi-Spot is to use caution and spot test before applying on all of the applicatio...

This works great for ticks
Would RecommendThis seems to keep away all ticks and the majority of flys, but 2 out of 4 of our horses do NOT like it being applied. I've gotten plenty on my hands from the elcheapo applicator and I've not experienced any burning so I don't know what their deal is with it. But it's keeping off the ticks so they will be getting it anyway. I use it aboutoabout a month on pastured horses.

Very Effective
Would RecommendI use this when I go trail riding in areas w with lots of gnats. Keeps me and my horse but free and comfortable.

Would RecommendIt was like fly Armageddon after we used this on all the horses. Excellent fly and mosquito control.

Would RecommendWe buy this every year for our horses , does an amazing job keeping the ticks off!

Good product for horses living in the Northeast!
Would RecommendI have used this product for years. Seems to do it’s job, especially when we turn our horses out on the hill with several shaded areas and brush. The horses never seem to like it getting put on however. Definitely wear gloves for application as it is likely you will spill some product on your hands
