What Customers Are Saying
The product has a mixed reception. While many customers appreciated the appealing look and simple installation, a significant number reported quality control issues, with a large portion of the boards being damaged or unusable. Some customers had to carefully inspect and select the best boards from multiple packages to complete their projects. Despite the quality concerns, many were still satisfied with the final results, though customers should expect some waste and be prepared to put in extra effort to find the high-quality boards.

Would RecommendI agree with others there is a lot of bad pieces but for my installation I was able to cut around them with very little scrap. We redid our basement after a flood and used 40 packages roughly 550 sq ft. We used the pieces with the knots missing as it still gives it a nice look. Overall very happy with the products, installs quick and easy and can change a room without having to gut it. Again I agree with others I had broken ends, missing knots and split pieces but I was able to use every piece m...
Chips, Splits and Knotholes
Would Not RecommendThe product is going to be an accent wall in my office but unfortunately there are few if any packages that don't have a board or boards with chips, splits and knotholes in them so that I had to buy more product than needed and return the damage. Fully 80% of the packages had visible damage and of the ones I cherry picked, at least 10% of them have some damage that could not be seen until the package was opened.
Worst pieces I ever bought
Would Not RecommendTo many chip pieces in the packet it's a cheap product breaks and splits easy
Works great for ceiling
Would RecommendI have used this product and a similar product on 2 ceilings in my house. I don't recommend the economy grade (the similar product# product. The stain grade product is much better. I had about 20% waste with the economy grade, but closer to 5% with the stain grade material. I installed it over 1X2 furring strips spaced 16 inches apart using 3 brads per strip. I was not looking for the concealed nailing look for my application. The brad heads look quite rustic and fit the house perfectly. The ec...
Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendI purchased two packages of the 8Ft Stain Grade Knotty Pine V-Groove Wainscot for a project. Each board is very thin and splinters easily. Most of the pieces were broken on the edges where they join together. Several pieces had holes all the way through where a knot would have been.
Great results, but requires some creativity.
Would RecommendI used 25 bundles to finish out a covered patio ceiling. Each board was stained and finished, and then installed using a finish nailer. The product went up fairly easy, however you will have to work around the many flaws. Some of the boards were slightly warped, and several had damage to the ends, and/or the tongue/groove. I was able to cut and use most of them, but there were 6 or so that were mostly unusable. The final project looks great, and given the cost, was a pleasant surprise.
Great Product!
Would RecommendLove this product. Used it as flooring in a boys hunting bedroom. Looks amazing!!!!
Awful.
Would Not RecommendLuckily I was only buying this to use two of the pieces as shims in a door frame. If I was actually using these on a wall, I think only two of the pieces would have been suitable. The rest were misshapen with large, black areas on them. Maybe I got a bad batch, but be careful when selecting the packages if you choose this product.
Grade Knotty Pine Wainscot
Would Not RecommendTerrible, 3 boards out of the 5 had terrible ends side on them, not even material to to match up to groove side. Bad quaility control. These were the 8' long boards, have used shorter one in past and they weren't as bad.
Have to carefully pick packages
Would RecommendThis is a very economical product, the overall wood quality and machining is well done. But, and this is a big but, you must go to a larger Lowe's with ample product packages to choose from because 30% have at least some cracked pieces or pieces with damaged edge joints.
Love this product
Would RecommendWe have used this product in two different applications. We put it on the ceiling of a loft area in a small cottage, and planked the walls in our entire entryway and hallway - over 500 square feet. We planked both areas horizontally for a farmhouse look and painted them out white. We love the look. The product is very easy to work with. We did have some damaged corners, knotholes, and cracks to tend to, but for the amount we worked with I would say it was minimal. This is not a high-end wood pro...
Great look
Would RecommendGot a few packages with no defective boards and got a few that only had 1 or 2 boards that I could use. Pick through the packages at the store.
You will get what you pay for ..... probably less.
Would Not RecommendThe price paid for running board foot - or for the square foot coverage per package is very favorable - but depending on the final quality of the project - you may expect to purchase nearly twice as much as originally estimated. Other users appear to be content with the "rustic look" to whatever degree that may be. However, I am paneling a closet which will result in close scrutiny and also cannot have edges which will snag clothes, etc. I have used products similar to this but this is the first...
Pick n Choose
Would RecommendI am in the process of building a 26 x 30 cabin. Two things, first I am not a carpenter and second I am cheap. I've done all the walls and ceilings except the bath walls with this product. Let me clarify. The bathroom walls I did with a rough cut fence wood. The ceiling I did with tongue & groove and one short wall in the main room. The two areas I purchased the product from Home Depot. Their product was better milled or refined what ever you want to call it, but the price $5 - $6 more expensive...
Fantastic Item
Would RecommendJust loved how easy it was to install and how wonderful it looks.
Not bad for the price
Would RecommendEasy to use. But you get what you pay for. These planks are very thin and damage easily. Some planks have splits or knots that will need to be cut off to use. But that said, for the price you can build a very attractive wall at a much better price. Bought mine from stock in the store,so I was able to pick through the pkgs for the best looking ones.
Has the look I was going for
Would RecommendI am using this knotty pine on my ceiling to achieve a "cottage look" in my mother-in-law's apartment. She always said that before she dies she wants to live in a little cottage....so that's what I'm building her. I have stained it with Rustolium Golden Mahogany and it looks great! My only complaint is that many of the ends of the boards are cracked or broken - I've had to buy 20% more than I needed. Perhaps better packaging on the ends would fix that.
