BEWARE! Serious Motor Issues

I've now had 2 of these over the last year thinking it was just a defect. Both of them have the same issues with the motor. When it starts up, it sounds like a damaged motor beginning to spin up. Also, it smells as if the armature is overheating and burning. It's subtle at first but then begins to degrade over the year. Useless if you can't change Blades

When will Dewalt learn that it isn't necessary to "epoxy" screws in place on something like the Blade guard. First time changing the blade and I have to borrow a neighbor's impact driver (and buy the torx bit) just to loosen the screws ON THE GUARD!!! Folks, these screws don't need to tightened and loctited for an earthquake. I'm a woman, I know other women in construction and remodeling and for this reason alone I will never recommend a Dewalt Miter saw. Makita, Delta yes. Dewalt, you only ...

Love this miter saw

This miter saw does everything I need. I also have the small cordless 7 1/4 in so between them both I can get everything done.

Great saw and amazing price!

I purchased this because it was on clearance at my local Lowe’s. It was still more than I wanted to spend but getting a dual beveled miter saw, originally over $400 for $238, seemed like a no brainer. I’ve only made simple straight cuts but, so far, I love it! It’s a big machine and a little intimidating but as I get use to it I’m absolutely loving it!

What a piece of junk!

Bought this saw and it lasted about 3 hours of cutting about 10 2x4's then a God awful noise came from the center of the blade then wouldn't engage, just the motor ran. I returned it and got about 50 cuts from the replacement saw and same thing. Not only did it take a day away of work but now have to take it back again which isn't a short drive!

Must have for a DIY garage shop

I originally had the DeWalt 12" sliding compound saw with stand but it took up a ton of space in my garage. Fantastic saw but too big for my space. This is basically the same saw but it doesn't slide. I do miss the slide at times but I've found this fits 99% of my needs. Plan on having dust collection other than just the bag that comes with it. I don't like doing a ton of sweeping after cutting and having a powered dust collector helps a lot.

This was to replace my old DWS715. This DWS716 is a very smooth saw. I bought this one specifically because of the great cam miter lock system. It’s fast, easy, adjustable & works perfectly. I highly recommend this saw. I also appreciated the packaging for shipment. The box was covered with a black plastic. This protected it from the rain or snow & well as concealing what the product was against porch pirates. Good job Lowes!
