Wouldn’t drill through hardened steel
Although cobalt supposedly will drill through hardened steel, this wouldn’t cut at all. I bought this as a pilot for a 1/4” hole in hardened steel. Lowe’s didn’t have any carbide bits. I ended up forcing my HSS bits through and reaming to final size. I returned the 1/4” cobalt bit unopened and will use the 1/8” carbide for softer stuff.
