Great upgrade from my previous model, My previous unit finally died after years of hard use. Hopefully this one will last just as long!

Tool Doesn't Come with Major Safety Feature

The DCG415 angle grinder comes with a Type 27 guard needed for grinding. But, half the value of the tool is for cutting which requires a Type 1 guard. Watch some YouTube safety videos on grinders to appreciate the importance of having this guard if your blade ever breaks while using (an extremely dangerous event). And,the Dewalt owner's manual emphasizes the same. However, it shows no part # and neither Dewalt's website or any of its retailers sell it or reference the Type 1 guard for this mo...

Great Grinder

Feels great in the hand, easy to hold paddle-switch, and easily repositioned guard. I haven't gotten to use this much yet, but I prefer the paddle-switch over a trigger for when you have to change hands or hold it in a weird way to fit in a tight space. It's nice to be able to use 5" discs too, and being able to just spin the guard around without fiddling with clamps is pretty cool.

Handy little grinder

Love that this is battery powered. No more dealing with extension cables! Probably won't be as powerful, but will be very handy when cutting tiles and sharpening mower blades.

Battery operated makes it easier to move around. Allows cutting to be more precise

High quality grinder

Purchased this after really researching. I am pleased beyond my expectations. I am a contractor that specializes in stonework, stone veneer, tile, masonry and pavers etc. Being cordless is so freeing. The paddle switch is great. It’s well balanced and very user friendly. I recommend 8ah battery for longer use. But for simple smaller cuts or grinding any battery will do. Home owner or contractor, this grinder in a winner in my opinion.
