Should have bought years ago
Would RecommendI should have bought this years ago. I used a drill to drive screws for a long time and it did the job but not nearly as well as this driver. Lightweight and powerful. For the light duty work info around the house the 2ah battery is plenty. Seems to charge in about 30 mins great tool

Good driver, could be better
Would RecommendI’m on my third of fourth unit of this model, not because it is poorly made, but because I use them hard and wear them out. I would like to see DeWalt release a new model of this tool with the following changes: I almost never use first gear and by that I basically mean never. I’ve tried it, and it just doesn’t work for me. I’d rather finesse the trigger in second gear to sink my fasteners. Second point; second gear is always the first to wear out, so I run third gear almost all the time. That ...

Good overall
Would RecommendAs a whole, I recommend this tool. Plenty of power for my needs. Three speed options is an added bonus. My issue is that the chuck is faulty. When you pull the collar it doesn't want to release the bit. Every time I need to change out bits, I have to yank on the bit with quite a bit of force while moving the collar back and forth. Not really ideal under any circumstances. Otherwise, a good tool
Dewalt impact driver with selectable speed
Would RecommendWhen you are in the market for a dewalt impact, it can get a little confusing. The best part about this model is the three power levels. It’s a function you never knew you needed. Level one is stepped way down and perfect for assembling all the things that tell you not to use an impact (that I would anyway and break) Level two is for lighter impact driver work into material and three is a monster. This is way faster and more powerful than my dewalt impact driver from 6 years ago. I use my impa...

My 4 year old great granddaughter has more torque.
Would Not RecommendIt seems that after you hit 70 years of age you need lots of outside help for projects. I have been a DeWalt customer for 27 years because of their power to weight ratios and design so my recent purchase of a 20v 5ah tool set included this impact driver. I liked the idea of drilling a pilot hole with the drill and driving the screw with this impact. Except this impact has no torque. The bit spins normally under no load but you can stop it with your fingers. On any of the 3 settings. It is ...
