Post lamp did not charge batteries with solar unit despite placing in sunlight for three days. Only bought one lamp to "test" reliability. I am glad I did. If product worked, was planning on buying nine more units for backyard deck.

Perfect so far

We bought 8 of these and and all are working perfectly. They are on every night until sunrise, and provide adequate light the whole time. You can easily remove the wooden trim around the bottom to stain or paint before installation if needed. Directions say to glue them in place, but I used caulk so that I can remove them easier if I ever need to.

I am dissappointed with the bulb brightness. It is very dim at best.

Excellent accent lights for deck

Purchased 5 of these for our deck - 4 were fine and one worked intermittently. I must agree with other reviews - if you have a problem, contact customer service and Jackie will resolve the issue quickly and professionally. This company definitely stands behind it's product and warrantee promises. I would recommend this light to my friends.

Waste of money

I thought this looked like such a good idea. These lights fit right over the deck posts. They're really good looking, but from the beginning the lights were very dim--did not illuminate anything. They didn't stay lit for very long at night, they collect rainwater on the tops. One blew off the post and broke apart. A big waste of $.

Company replacement and support good

After purchasing 8 of these lights about 5 years ago, they stopped working. When I contacted the manufacturer for a repair kit, the company replaced all 8 lights with new ones [batteries included] at no cost. The support for failing lights is superior. The replacements were copper colored plastic rather than copper tops.

I purchased 12 of these solar lights over 4 years ago. I bought 3 originally and liked them so much I bought 6 more. After doing more landscaping I purchased the final three. The 3 original and last 3 I purchased still look and work good but for some reason the other 6 lost their luster and did not work. I contacting customer service and talked with Jackie who was very helpful. Now my landscaped area is illuminated once again and looks as good as new.

Did not last

We purchased 8 of these 4 years ago. They stopped working last summer. I thought they just needed new batteries. Just cleaned and replaced batteries in all. Only 3 work. The solar panels in four are clouded and one is on and will not go out. Very sad about spending so much money and the lights not lasting.

Exemplary Customer Service

Superior customer service received from employee, I had a pool deck built last July and the contractor had me select the lights from several vendors I choose model 72435 4x4 solar copper post caps sold at Lowes, I took the batteries out for the winter and re-installed them this spring when the pool was opened, I explained my problem to employee Jackie and I must say she was not only professional in her approach but made me feel like I was part of her family showing the concern she had toward my ...

INSTALLED THESE ON POST AROUND PATIO, LOVE THE COPPER LOOK, EASY TO INSTALL AND WORKED PERFECT.

Love the Product

We purchased 8 of these solar lights about 6 years ago, they work great. All we have ever needed to do was replace the batteries. We are very happy with the amount of light they give off. We are in the process of building a new deck on our cottage and we will definity purchase more of these lights.

Not durable or worth the cost

I purchased 5 of these and over two years I have had to replace 2 of them. Now a a third has stopped working and the batteries are good. Two more are working but water has leaked into the solar panel and has fogged it. I expect these to begin to fail soon. The solar panel is recessed in the top so water collects and eventually leaks in. I have other LED solar lights that are free standing and one set is going on 10 years with no problems other than batteries wearing out (which is expected).

on 2nd thought, reconsider the purchase

We purchased a house 2 years ago that had 2 of these. We liked them so much we purchased 6 more. The 2 originals are still working and the others keep dropping like flies. Like the other reviews said, replaced the batteries and they still don't work. The main problem is the electronics get hung up keeping the LED lights on. Per my meter, the solor panel still works but the light sensor is out. The fist ones may have been good but they were not worth the $25 each.

They don't last long

Bought these for our deck and within 3 years they no longer work. We replaced the batteries and they still hardly have any light to them anymore. Next time I will pay a little bit more and hopefully those will last longer

Very Disappointed

We bought 4 of these post lights for our new deck in March of 2010 and by May two of them stopped working. Now in December all 4 have stopped working. How disappointing that they did not last one year! Initially when they did work they looked great and provided just enough light to navigate to the steps on a dark deck, but now all I see is a huge waste of money sitting on the deck posts. I do not recommend them at all.
