Star drive deck screws
Would RecommendI use about 15 pounds of these screws per week on average. I don't even bother looking at any other screws. Weather I'm using 1 1/4 inch or 4 inch or any size between I know these screws will do the job. To my knowledge I have never had one head to strip out. I have broken a few drives but never stripped out a head. To me time is money, I don't have time to mess around with any other screws.

Would RecommendMuch better than the Phillips head type screws. No stripping of the head. A very solid interface between the bit and the screw head makes for excellent holding power to really set the screw home.

Would Not RecommendAfter this winter most of my decking piping up. Found out a lot of the screws broke around the first thread line near the top.

Heavy duty screw
Would RecommendA bit pricey for screws but it is a heavy duty 5-inch screw that is strong, coated to prevent oxidation and works great! It comes with a star bit (cheap but functional) and does the job. This is probably the biggest screw you can find which is as convenient as a dry wall screw and easier then the next step which would be a lag bolt. The work I'm doing isn't permanent and I only hope I can find the bit again in a few years when I want to remove the screw... but this is a minor complaint.
Really works
Would RecommendWas using this product to fasten to hemlock--a VERY hard wood. My nail would bend trying to nail into it but these nails sailed right through, only product I could find to work under these conditions
