Great, easy deck screws

These screws are fantastic for any exterior wood project. I used them with 2" PT boards to construct a small pergola and it couldn't have been easier. There is no pre-drilling and the star drive really does prevent any stripping. In fact, you have to be careful not to drive the screws too far into the wood. The only issue with the screws was needing to change my drill battery pretty often but that's not an issue if you have spare. I will definitely use these for any future projects requirin...

Star drive deck screws

I use about 15 pounds of these screws per week on average. I don't even bother looking at any other screws. Weather I'm using 1 1/4 inch or 4 inch or any size between I know these screws will do the job. To my knowledge I have never had one head to strip out. I have broken a few drives but never stripped out a head. To me time is money, I don't have time to mess around with any other screws.

I really enjoyed the smoothe and accurate insertion of the screws as well as the easy smooth extraction of any i insertion correctly.

Excellent screws

The star drive made for a lot less troubled installation than with Phillips type devices, the star grips firmly and does not slip. The screws pulled themselves in without extra effort. Definitely a great product!

Delayed delivery

I am very happy with the product. Very unhappy with the delivery time. I realize it was not Lowe's that caused the delivery but the manufacturer. I requested store pickup and it still took an extra 7 days past the expected date of delivery. Recommend but be prepared to wait for the delivery to the store.

torx head deck screws

make sure you install them correctly and don't use too long a length. they can pull out wood if you have to adjust or reset boards

Great screw

Much better than the Phillips head type screws. No stripping of the head. A very solid interface between the bit and the screw head makes for excellent holding power to really set the screw home.

Star 4-in screw

This is one of the best screws I have experienced. I highly recommend it.

Not a Good Experience

After this winter most of my decking piping up. Found out a lot of the screws broke around the first thread line near the top.

good purchase

The only problem we have is when we use the inpack driver, the star driver gets stuck in the head of the screw and is very hard to get out.

The coating keeps'em from rusting. The star drive keeps the head from striping out. And, they are removable at any time ! 5 Stars

Heavy duty screw

A bit pricey for screws but it is a heavy duty 5-inch screw that is strong, coated to prevent oxidation and works great! It comes with a star bit (cheap but functional) and does the job. This is probably the biggest screw you can find which is as convenient as a dry wall screw and easier then the next step which would be a lag bolt. The work I'm doing isn't permanent and I only hope I can find the bit again in a few years when I want to remove the screw... but this is a minor complaint.
