What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this floor leveler for effectively filling gaps, patching imperfections, and leveling uneven subfloors. Most find it easy to apply and spread with proper tools like drywall knives, with many noting it feathers and trowels well. However, some report extended drying times in thicker applications and difficulty achieving smooth finishes without sanding. Several mention the cured material is extremely hard to sand. Despite these challenges, most customers consider it effective for subfloor preparation when applied correctly.

Would Not RecommendDid not work for what I was interested in which was to level a floor with a liquid solution before dropping in laminate flooring.

Great Leveling Compound
Would RecommendAfter foundation work was done inside my home, i needed to bring the concrete-filled holes back to floor level in order to relay the vinyl tiles. This wass easy to use and worked out well. Easy clean-up, too.

Works good
Would RecommendPretty stiff to work with would like it to be a little easier to apply. But not a major problem, and it accomplished exactly what it was supposed to do! I would definitely use it again.

Good, but expensive
Would RecommendProduct worked well, but was too expensive to use for large area coverage.

Will shrink with time
Would RecommendI thought it was a product that would dry in hours and ready for the floor the same day? No. I had a 1/4 drop on my wood floor to patch where an old furnace used to be. I thought 1 can 32 oz is enough. It shrank and I bought a second can and added to it. That too shrank. A third can. 1 week later, it was slighty below grade. Fourth can! Now it is level! Do not plan to install your floor immediatly. It will shrink and get thinner.

gummy... gummy
Would Not RecommendCannot sand this product even after completely dry. I ruined a brand new belt sander trying to sand this stuff down; company said you could sand it!

Would RecommendGreat for leveling dips in wood floors before installing new floors.

Tough to use
Would Not RecommendThe material is too thick to work easily into place. Although it takes 6 hours (!!) to cure, it begins to set within moments and becomes even more difficult to work.

DAP Gray Patching Compound Review
Would RecommendThis compound makes it so easy to fill, and level out floors. It does not crack when it dries/hardens, and it is flexible when the there is movement with the wooden floor that I applied it to.

Better than expected
Would RecommendI wasn't sure how this product would work or turn out. It was very easy to work with. I have always been happy with DAP products. This crack filler did the job that I needed it to. I did need to sand it afterwards and that didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Next time I will be more careful at making sure that I don't have overspill and that I am as level as I can be applying it. Good product!

Works very well
Would RecommendThis product worked very well for my problem. I had the edge of a floor ducked that was raised and in the way of laying my floating floors. I used this to fill the difference and feather it out. It’s supper easy to use and goes on like a thicker drywall mud. It feels very sold once set and I have no concerns about it holding up.
