What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise this floor leveler for effectively filling gaps, patching imperfections, and leveling uneven subfloors. Most find it easy to apply and spread with proper tools like drywall knives, with many noting it feathers and trowels well. However, some report extended drying times in thicker applications and difficulty achieving smooth finishes without sanding. Several mention the cured material is extremely hard to sand. Despite these challenges, most customers consider it effective for subfloor preparation when applied correctly.

Pretty flexible

Would Recommend

It’s pretty caulk like almost. Don’t scrape anything over it.

Good stuff

I used this to level out a bathroom floor where we are putting down a wood underlayment over existing subfloor and old tile. There was carpet also over that tile that had been ripped out -- taking a few old vinyl tiles with it in the process. I first sealed over the entire floor with Zinsser paint as we had concerns of asbestos. The next step was this DAP leveler for where tiles were missing and rough spots. I did ok with it but later realized that I was going to have to get it a lot smoother...

Ideal for use under hardwood flooring

Would Recommend

This appears to be the best product to use for floor leveling under solid hardwood. It hardens to a hard putty which still has a little give to take nails or floor movement. For leveling purposes, you have to mix in a small amount of water to make it easier to work with. It comes as a paste like consistency which may work for patching holes but is too thick for spreading over a large area. It does shrink some after drying so multiple coats may be needed... I think this is the reason why they...

Good leveler for uneven wood subfloor

Would Recommend

Trowels out just fine, water clean up is a bonus. It seems to have set up just fine, I did not experience it not setting up as some have said.

I am buying this product again and again.

Would Recommend

My only alternatives were cement self levelers. Having experience with wood, the idea of placing a water based product on wood sub floors did not appeal to me. I decided to try this product. While the application is similar to mudding drywall in that it does not flow, with a little time and effort with a long trowel I have been able to smooth a level surface. When I used it in areas of 1/4 inch or slightly better, the drying time took 2 days, (interior application 70 degrees). Up to 1/4 inch it ...

Worked Great!

Would Not Recommend

This product is great for leveling under nail-down hardwood flooring. It tends to dry out a little on the shelf, so it typically needs to be tempered with a tiny amount of water. I used it to fill around layers of SurePly to correct a major subfloor dip at a low joist.

Okay for thickness less than 1/8”

Would Not Recommend

The container says you can lay this down up to 1/4” thick. My experience was that it hardened within 24 hours if applied less than 1/8” thick. In some areas I applied 1/4” thickness 48 hours ago and it still feels like pay doh. Do yourself a favor a buy MAPEI floor patch like I eventually did after I scraped out this play doh.
