This is the first time I used this product. It's a bucket of expensive garbage. Mine was not soupy like others expressed. It was of a thick consistency. I normally use the powder version of this product. It is terrible to spread. Was sticking to mud knife and pulling off surface I was patching. Dry time is forever. Creating a skin while drying and cracked all over. The powder version is far more superior than this. You can mix it to your preference, bonds to just about anything, spreads smoothly...

Fast drying

Material spread nicely but within a few seconds it was drying and a second floating stroke would make it stick to the trailing edge of the knife and pull up material off the floor or out of the small holes. Maybe adding a little water would have made it a little more workable. Cleanup was easy.

Hard to find in any other stores

Reliable but a bit harder to work with thick layers

Formula change

I previously purchased this product to perform patch work on walls. This new formula took four dats to dry and qas very soft, unlike its predecessor l. I would never purchase this again.

Good patching product

Used it around exterior of a newly cut out door opening. I did not want moulding around it, and didn't want the hassle of mesh and stocco, so used the compound to fill in the framed areas, couple of layers at a time, until it was level with the stucco wall. Once painted, cannot tell the difference. Looks like door was original to the house. It tools like drywall mud, a bit more elastic, cleans up easily. It does take time to dry, so let it do that before applying another coat, and it will droop ...

Would not spread, smells awful

Same consistency and aroma of feta cheese. I returned it, the clerk said it smelled like a corpse.

adheres poorly for a particular usage

At least if one uses a plastic type (fiberglass core) window screen as a backing for covering some void, for example where the the eaves rotted out, when you apply the stuff, it pulls back off easily in spots as you spread, which is quite aggravating. To get the job done, you have to let a first pass dry, then go back and cover the places where it pulled off. Maybe metal screen would be better in this regard, but it is also harder to work with and get stapled into place.

Good filler

I bought this to patch a couple of holes in a wood floor. It worked well for this. It was cheaper than other products for the same purpose. I tried staining it and it did not take the stain well. It did not dry as fast as I thought it would but overall I was satisfied with this product.

Basically water

Bought it for a last minute home project that I needed complete ASAP. only to get home and it's basically water. Spilled so much trying to mix because the part that isn't water is basically rock solid. Huge waste of money and disappointment in a usually solid brand

You want easy look for a different brand

It was way too thick to use. I kept stirring it but could only use a little bit at a time. It came out in globs & pieces would shed off a little at a time.

Check Product Before Leaving Store

Container was cracked/leaked and the product was all over the outside of the container and all over the bag it was inside of making the bottom of the box is was delivered in damp/soft.

Not quite as advertised

This stuff sort of worked, but it's so soupy you could not apply it with a spatula as shown. I could apply it with a paint brush, and then sand off the globby mess once it dries. But no way would it firmly fill even a grape sized vertical hole with out running out, or sit up on a putty knife like the images show. It behaves more like a plaster of paris than a spackle or patch. A good %20 of the material had settled to the bottom so thick it could not be agitated again. In my case, I was us...

Mold grows on the product

The product grows mold. I used half a bucket with success. On a second project I opened the bucket and it had mold growing all over it! Shouldn't the product have chemicals added to prevent or minimize mold growth?
