Runs For 3 Seconds and Stops - Repeat

I bought this on sale in January 2026 when it was on sale for $30 and I tried using it for the first time today. It will run for at most 3 seconds before it quits. The battery is fully charged and it makes no difference if it's set for Hi or Low speed. I see why it was so cheap now, Lowe's charged me $30 just to get it out of their store.

Autofeed stopped working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When new this trimmer outperformed any other trimmer I have ever used. Good cutting power and automatic feed worked well. However, when the replaceable plastic cover wore thru and came off, I replaced it with a genuine Craftsman replacement cap and craftsman string, the automatic feed stopped working.

Easy to operate.

Exactly what I was looking for. I have a gas powered weed trimmer that is just too heavy. This is lighter and much easier to operate with the auto feed line.

don't buy

not a great product

Battery Charger is not What's Pictured on Site

I am a long time Lowe's customer who has been purchasing and using Craftsman tools for many years. I purchased this string trimmer to replace a corded one I bought 25 yrs ago. My favorite feature of the older one (and also the new one) is the "twist and edge". I like the edge my driveway, walks and landscaping. I'm looking forward to not having to use electric cords. I was disappointed when I opened the box to find that the charger in the box, is not the one that is pictured on the site/item des...

Good tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trimmer was purchased for my son. He loves it. The battery power allows for immediate work as opposed to adding fuel and pull starting a gas trimmer. It has adequate power for yard trimming.

Light weight Easy to handle

Love the way it works. Best weed eater I’ve ever used. The battery powered was easy and extremely light for me to hold for long times.

Yard work complete

It was easy to assemble and use. The battery charge doesn’t last long but we were able to get the job done. Well worth the money spent.

Works good

Works good and the batteries area good price

Buy a second battery

I love how light the weed eater is. I have a bad back and neck so the others hurt, but this one seems to be just the right weight.

More than your normal “Weed Wacker”

Especially like that it can be used as an edger as well as a weed wacker.
