Piece of Junk!

I have almost every V20 tool made and this one is hands down the worst one. As soon as you cut it on and touch whatever you are trying to do with it, it cuts off. The only thing it is useful for it turning it on and watching it cut or polish air. If you touch any material, it powers right off. As good as most of the V20 tools are it’s surprising something this pitiful made it into production.

TOTAL BUST

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of the dozens of V20 tools that I own, this is only the second one that I have ever been disappointed in. This thing is almost useless. Even with a fully charged battery and the tool on its highest setting, it cannot complete even the simplest of cuts without overloading and kicking off. I have never once used it where I did not have to cycle it back on REPEATEDLY after it dies before finishing what I was doing. Even cutting a 3/4" PVC pipe...

Works great for many different projects

Junk Do Not Buy

This is a piece of junk! It constantly shuts off, even during light duty task. Some times it shuts down as soon as I turn it on, before it even touches the wood. I wasted well over $200 after buying two batteries and a charger to go with it. I'm just S.O.L I guess.

Awesome battery powered tool!

Straight to the point. The brand this tool replaces (and you all know the brand) only provides smaller limited runtime batteries. I've seen videos complaining about the Craftsman cutting out under load. I've pushed this repeatedly to see if this is the case and it has not happened to me so far. It runs a heck of a long time on a 4Ah battery and pushed as hard as I could (grinding metal on an old axe restore among other things) and it never shut off or bogged down. I love it. TOTAL JUNK

Was mailed a 2nd one, after original review &its no better than first one! Won't even cut some thin, soft plastic without dying! Any pressure & it dies. Original & 2nd are both junk! Only V20 tool I've got that's junk! Guess I need to go back to Dremel for rotary tools!

Dont buy it. I can't NOT recommend this enough.

Weak and Unreliable!

Purchased this with the thought in mind of portability. I love Craftsman and have most of their tools. But this one is bad! Big problems just like everyone else. When you actually apply any sort of pressure it stalls and shuts off. Over and over again. Its basically useless. Unless your cutting balsa wood or maybe filing your nails do not purchase.

Shuts off

All my tools are craftsman and I love them. Bought rotary tool about a year ago to replace my dremel for woodworking. Was working great, but the last month it works for about 5 min carving, then shuts off. It will not come back on for awhile, but again shuts off. So frustrating because I love craftsman, but now I need a new rotary tool to handle my woodworking. Beyond frustrated!!!

Seems like it should work well, it doesn't.

I have a similar issue as most folks where it runs on fine but as soon as you try to apply any pressure it just shuts off. I hate this thing and hoped different batteries would fix the issue and they did not.

Very Weak!!! Low Power!!!

Purchased one and was totally disappointed because it has NO POWER at all. Put any pressure on the tool and it shuts off. Doesn't matter what tool you're using, it is just weak. All I was doing is cleaning a little rust off of some bicycle parts. Exchanged a few months later, and 2nd one still weak!

Terrible

This turns off after 5-10 seconds of use. If you put apply any pressure to it, it shuts off. Definitely do not recommend this.

I am so sorry I bought this

zero stars. I have small rotary tools that I paid less than 10 bucks from that Chinese company people are afraid of using. I thought I would splurge and get a real tool. what a mistake. this tool can't do anything better than my cheaper tool. I would have been better to buy 5 if them and skip this one. this tool will turn off at any reasonable speed. it can't handle any pressure. please save your money. shame in craftsman. for years they were our go-to tool. they've lost my trust.
