Ratings & Reviews for Command Large White Adhesive Storage/Utility hook 5-lb Capacity

Ripped off paint and drywall in my dorm!

I had these hung up in my dorm room. As I was taking them down and one of the pull tabs ripped and I could not get it off the wall. It tore off the paint and a bit of dry wall. I will now be getting charged for the damage it left.

Fell Off

I installed the hook on a matte painted metal panel, and hung a (dry) mop on it, after waiting the recommended period. I actually weighed the mop and it was just under 2 pounds. It came undone after about three days. I was also displeased with the awkward shape of the actual hook portion - did not allow my broom, mop, etc to hang neatly.

Terrible Product

I bought this product 3 days ago to hang a standard broom on a closet. Applied it exactly per the directions and it fell off within 30 minutes of hanging my broom on it. Figured it was a freak thing and reapplied it with a new pad (again following the directions exactly) and the same result. For the price it costs for one hook, surely not worth it! The Dollar Tree knock off that is only advertised to hold 3 pounds has been holding my broom without issues for 2 days now!

Do what you'd expect

They do what you'd expect... Nothing more nothing less.

Awesome hooks

We used these for Christmas and they were awesome! Strong and we’re so easy to remove!!!

Wall hangers

I purchased them for a friend and he is not complaining. So, because of this, these are a great product.

Great idea but falls apart

I have had and been using these for over a year. The hooks come apart way too easy when you are removing the hanging item, ie dustpan or oven mits, off of the hook. Finally took them down to try another Command product.

Not a good quality

They don’t even hold 2 pounds and it supposed to be for 5 lbs. Not only that my wall is ruin it peel off the paint bad.

Damage free hanging huh?

No, not damage free hanging. When I went to remove the command strip it took a chunk of my paint with it.

Fell off the wall after a year

I loved these at first but came home this weekend after having them on my wall for a year, and found three of my pieces of artwork on the floor. The hooks disconnected from the wall and were also laying on the floor. I will not buy these again. One piece of my art was damaged so disappointed that they do not last.

Not as advertised

Bought this to hang a child coat on. Hook broke off. then the pull tab to remove the adhesive broke off. Then I had to Google how to TRY and take the dang thing off the wall. Didn't work, now I have a hole to patch and paint. I think these should be advertised as permanent

Command hooks

Just what my wife needed for putting things on the doors for home decoration.

They Stick

These were bought to hold my wife's Crock Pot Holder, and they work great for that! They stick just like they should, and haven't had to take them down, but in the past they were easy to remove.

OK for Temporary Use

Used some a year ago for Christmas decorations and left them in place after taking down decorations. Purchased some more this year when hanging decorations. A couple from last year let loose after several days, and two from this year let loose after several weeks. All were used on smooth, painted window trim, so I would have expected them to hold well.

Great for medium size...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a year ago and it is still holding up my large pictures. I can't believe the strength.
